As I expected...With the gig all to himself he jumped at the chance to be a Sooner. Solid hire. Hope he can bring some studs into the next class.

Brady Hoke, the head coach, has been a Dline coach all his coaching career and Greg Mattison is Mich. D coord. and was a Dline coach for 30 yrs. 77-07.
So at the moment Jerry has 50+ years of Dilne coaching experience looking over his shoulder all the time. There is a possibility that he might want to get away from the second guessing everything he does.
His name has been mentioned and there's a good chance we'll take a strong look at the guy. If he wants his own gig bad enough and doesn't want to be evaluated on every move he makes by two guys that think they know better than him, he would probably take the job primarily because it can be his own. Good Dline coach and very good recruiter...We'll see.
