Aggie minus johnny football= ???

Thoughts??

Lets suppose johnny football had a season ending injury in week 2.

No hiesman, no espn love fest, no big bama win, no cotton bowl display of humiliating OU and probably additional losses to La tech, ole miss total of 5 losses.

We probably get mastro and manning.

Aggie will probably get mizzoued in the sec for the next several years.

No $100 million stadium expansion

Sumlin has always seemed to have a great QB to run his offense. Don't know if it is the system or his ability to recruit. Matt Davis (who I beleive will be a red shirt freshman next year) is a highly talented, duel threat QB who Sumlin may be able to plug in and have great success! He was a very highly recruited QB and has high expectations when his time comes!

Honestly couldn't care less about the Aggies. They couldn't win here and were tired of being in Texas shadow so they ran away to the sec. While the sec is hot they'll get a lot more blue chippers than ever before however they're still playing in the sec west. Unless we're playing them, good luck to them, but I couldn't care less. They beat us in a bowl game, whoop de do. Much like 77-0, it's in the past now, moving on.

Doesn't matter. None of this happened.

What if......the hurricane had not caused the cancellation of the season opener with La. Tech? A&M would have had a game to get ready and would not have lost their bye week that came before the game with LSU.

A&M could have gone undefeated and won the national championship!

STD, agree, that was a killer. Nevertheless, great season, and many more likely to come!

1. I would not wish him to get hurt. I'd rather beat his a$$ on the field, fair and square,
2. aTm has been recruiting well for a while now; they'll be fine for now. Only if Sumlin departs or they get nailed on NCAA sanctionsand then all bets are off
3. aTm means little to me other than they have attracted a few good recruits OU might otherwise have gotten
4. Attending aTm is its own punishment. They have to have something to cheer for. biggrin

Many were calling for an upset in the A&m-LaTech game, being so early in the season.  As it is, they gave up 57 points and only won by 2 points later in the season.

I think the Aggies should be glad they got Tech later in the season when they were a better team.

Playing the "if" game just doesn't work.

The point im making is that im sick of aggie beating their chests like they are a traditional powerhouse and have been dominating football for a century. All this because they stumbled upon johnny football by accident.

They are the blind squirrel that found a nut.

Couldn't agree more.  I wish we had been more prepared to handle him, but we weren't, and he made our team look stupid.  With all the things he seems to find to distract himself with, I don't see him repeating his feats for much longer.

I also want to
Remind them that they look down upon the big 12 nowadays. This is the conference that they won only once. Also they have one national championship from the 1930's i think.

yeah its like 1 good player in aggieville is responsible for their entire tradition.  the weird overalls, the jizz jars the gd kissing at points, that kinda of stuff still goes on amongst the fans..    but its a terrible fanbase and the team wont last long.,

let them hope, it'll make the victories so much sweeter.

I was kind of playing along with the original poster.  This entire thread is about what ifs.

You certainly could be right about La. Tech.  But that postponement meant that A&M had to play 12 straight weeks without a bye.  Thankfully, the team just continued to get better.  Will never know how it impacted their 2 losses.

Without Johnny Manziel? Maybe 2011 Auburn.

I have said this before and I will say it again. A&M would probably won the Big 12 this year and most likely played for the NC if they had stayed in the Big 12, but they didn't. So who is the real winner here?
It's not A&M.
All that is necessary for evil to triumph. Is for good men to do nothing.
