Re: Hoover keeps finding new knives to stick into Bobby!
Thanks for the link. I like how he uses the stat that fits his agenda. OU's assistant coaches are one of the highest paid groups in the country. Yes Stoops' percentage may be higher than most, but overall they are paid very well. The fact that he uses the word "greed" is ridiculous. In fact, if Venables would have stayed on at OU then the assistants would have made even more. Yes, I hope OU starts to pay top dollar for top assistants, but considering they are in the top 10 of assistant pay and #6 overall I don't think this is an article worth writing... bighop wrote: the link that works. the link had a couple spaces in it for some reason, this one should work. Just click on assistants at the top and it shows the salary for all coaches combined, and yes he is an idiot and put his article to shame because he can't get his numbers correct, but his percentage was correct. 06Sooner wrote: bighop wrote: All of you guys should look up the facts yourselves before you talk about how poor his math skills are. It is actually a typo and his percentage is correct. The whole staff got 7.5 mil, as opposed to the 9.26 that he posted in the article. Stoops did get 60%, he's just stupid and can't type the correct number. http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/graphics/dat atables/2012/NCAAFB-Coach-Salaries/coaches-salarie s-2012.html 06Sooner wrote: The funny thing is that Hoover's Math is wrong.
4.55 million is only 49% of 9.26 million....unless I'm missing something, Hoover's Math skills are awful.... Fair enough, but it's not my JOB to go look everything up. It's his job...he's just not very good at it evidently. He represented himself as dumber than an elementary kid and it's not on me to go look anything up to help him out...
BTW, the link doesn't work.

LOFL!
"Of the $9,264,750 paid to OU football coaches in 2012 (according to data published last November by USA Today, which was obtained from state open records requests), exactly $4.55 million of that was paid to Stoops.
That's 60.7 percent of the school's budget for paying its football coaches, all going to the head man."

Sorry sir, but I think that space in your name pertains to the large open gap where a normal person's brain is located.
Please go find another coach/program to "hate" on and try and find a life..

Re: Hoover keeps finding new knives to stick into Bobby!
I find this amusing, how the hell do you typo from 9.26 to 7.5 million? Seriously?? I could see if it said 9.5 or 8.5, something that even resembles accuracy or errant finger, but .26 is awfully specific and one more number after decimal. I say incompetent. --------------------------------------------- --- bighop wrote: All of you guys should look up the facts yourselves before you talk about how poor his math skills are. Now they have Hoover and he does not seem to be pro OU. Probably a bad choice in this state. Sittler did not like either OU or OSU. He was a hugh TU fan

The Tulsa World hasn't had a good writer/columnist since Bill Conners.

RE: Hoover keeps finding new knives to stick into Bobby!
I suspect that Hoover got his wording wrong. It sounds like Bob gets 60% of all the money paid to football coaches and 49% of all the money paid to all coaches in every sport (men and women).
$4.55MM/$9.26MM (Total for all coaches of all sports) = 49% $4.55MM/$7.5MM (Total for all football coaches) = 60%

I could care less if Hoover gets grilled for the error. I'm just pointing out what his error potentially is.

Hoover makes some good points in this article, but he cannot resist slapping at Stoops. It gets rather comical after awhile. Maybe Hoover should talk to Joe Castiglione. He might have more to say about salaries than Bob. .http://www.tulsaworld.com/spo...B1_WHERED268750
Excellent article. Bobby has a great gig. He plays Joe like a fiddle. Only a genius would receive a bonus for beating Iowa in the Insight Bowl. Bobby knows how to work the system. The SSPs can't get enough of his rubbish. Now that Bobby is finally on the clock, Ticktock. I have spacegirl on my ignore list for a reason. He's so anti Bob it blurs his thinking. What does Bob Stoops have to do with his assistants wages. He doesn't pass out the paychecks. You would have to be a complete idiot to turn down your pay raise. If I had a coach and he turned down a pay raise I'd fire him on the spot for stupidity.

Truthfully, Hoover is Spacegirl has definitely and seriously crossed my mind a few times. They are amazingly similar.
