I'm not crazy about any of the local media, but I don't think she's as bad as the "hatchet weilders" at the Tulsa World. That, to me, is the worst around; incompetence with a vendetta.

He he he he he. Poor Blevins; just no respect. Yogi Berra said hitting was 80% mental and 30% physical.??! Maybe Dean's new nickname should be Yogi! Yeh, Yogi Blevins! Those Yogy'isms were great. Bob recently did as Yogi has said; Bob came to a fork in the road and he took it.

In two separate articles in the same days paper, John Hoover said Patton was fired in his article and Guerin Emig seemed to say Patton took a job at Indiana and then left the team in his article. I know Emig never used the word "fired". I'm still unclear as to Patton's leaving OU. Was he fired and then Kevin Wilson offered him a spot at Indiana?

I didn't relay Blevin's comment with 100 percent accuracy. I do that sometimes, say about 21.25 percent of the time. Anyway what Dean meant to be quoted is that there is a 100 percent chance I am right 90 percent of the time, and he believes that there is a 50 percent chance that he is right in his assessment. There is minute chance perhaps somewhat less than one percent that any of you care what Dean thinks or I said. My shrink said self awareness is a very important stage of development. Which probably means that none of us have given Robert Allen and Jim Traber enough credit because they obviously have huge potential in self awareness. That was a joke son, just a joke. It only lacked one key element. Humor.

Being a woman doesn't have anything to do with Jenny's incompetence, as she has proven many times in the past.. She just doesn't really have a real clue about sports..

The woman doesn't just cover OU football. She covers all the sports at OU plus OSU and every other sports story in the state of Oklahoma. You really think she's got the time to sort out what assistant coaches would make the best fit for OU? Really? I read columnists from other papers and they may have suggestions or two about head coaching positions, but they rarely have a binder of available assistants right at hand. Look who Les Miles just hired, and Saban. Did you see those names being offered up beforehand? Just because she's a woman doesn't mean she's a bad reporter. Lighten up. Don't be afraid of women, guys. They outnumber us anyway. I fear all women, and any man who doesn't is a fool. LOL. By the way, you are the only one who brought up the issue of gender. I don't care if Carlson covers every sport at every school in Oklahoma. The biggest story in the state right now is about who Bob will hire to fill the remaining two spots on his staff. If Carlsen is going to field questions about OU football, then she is obligated as a professional to have some idea of what she's talking about. I'm not saying she has to correctly predict who Bob is going to hire, but she should have some idea of who he might consider. That's what sports reporters do...they provide information about sports. That's what sets sports reporters apart from people who aren't sports reporters. I would probably fall into that category of agreeing with you Numbers. The stuff we get today hardly falls into the category of GREAT Journalism. 20 years ago or maybe less we would not have had to ask these questions, i.e. who goes and duh, who may be next. Not a gender thing as much as the lack luster journalism we have today IMO. Are there any great ones out there anymore, rhetorical question? I am still looking. We had a truly top notch sports reporter at the Kansas City Star by the name of Joe Posnanski. He was thorough, reliable and he understood not only sports, but athletes. He also happened to be a terrific wordsmith. Sadly for the folks in KC, Posnanski got an offer a couple years ago to be a senior columnist at Sports Illustrated. Posnanski has written three sports related books, and the latest is a biography of none other than Joe Paterno. Posnanski was actually working closely with Paterno when the Jerry Sandusky scandal broke. He also had his final interview with JoPa shortly before he passed away. When you read sports columns by someone like Posnanski, you realize how weak Jenni Carlson really is. JMO.

Re: Oklahoma football: Coaching changes indicate that Bob Stoops
I get more information (good & bad) from this site than any of the local media back in Okla. I don't know enough about Jenni to comment directly. As far as Dean goes, I've never put much stock in what he says. He's a "National Wanna-Be" that never will & has his nose so far up the backside of some in hopes that they will take him where he wants to go. I know that some people look at him as Mr OU but he's 50/50 at best on what he says & anybody can guess that good.

Looking for the next Bob Woodward or Berstein or hell even a Cronkite in sports. Think I am reaching to high these days with some of the stuff I read.

Mitt Romney had a "binder full of women." If it worked for him, why not ...
Never mind.
