Chief is pretty good. If we can get him to stop going prevent at key times he would be even better.
Regarding not needing an OC. Well we LSU fans don't think we have had one in about 3-4 years. LOL.

I disagree AF... LSU finds ways to win with average QBs.

They just won their division the year before last. They won the conference actually and beat the Pac 12 conference champion in Oregon. They lost to Alabama on a last second go ahead TD. And Mettenberger looked better in the second half of the season.

If he was running a quarter 2 man under when Bama threw that screen ya'll would have won. If I recall correctly he tried to heat em up and they got ya'll on the screen play. I dont think he was in prevent.

You are correct but I wasn't refering to the Bama game. The Clemson game comes to mind when LSU had Clemson 4th and 16 and allowed Clemson to complete a 20 yard pass for a 1st down. Also against Ole Miss, there were some times in that one too. Howver, Chavis is overall pretty good. Hell of a recruiter as well.

As far as LSU winning in the SEC, LSU won the SEC WEST in 2011 after beating Bama in Tuscaloosa. LSU went on to win the 2011 SEC Title.

Regarding LSU recruiting QB's, LSU's QB recruits are ranked #1 as a QB class. See link.

CJChavis is "overall pretty good"? He's one the best defensive coordinators in the game IMO. I am an OU fan and I watch LSU games just to remember how defense should be played...how we once played it. Mingo, Montgomery, Logan, Minter, Reid, and on and on...play makers at every level. The development of talent from Coach Moffit in the weight room to the position coaches to the game planning is stellar IMO.

Lol.....ok, we'll see how well mette does this year vs McCarron and JFF. They lost 10 underclassmen to the draft. I'm not predicting the tigers to win the sec west this season, and while the future looks good for them, I think 2013 will be somewhat of a down year for them. I'm personally not sold on mette and I'm not exactly alone in my thought process either.
