Testing times thread

Testing times thread

Here are a few numbers I have run across. Feel free to add more.

Geneo Grissom 255 and ran a 4.65.
Alex Ross 216 pounds and 4.45 and 10.5 100 meters.
Trevor Knight benched 280 and ran 4.57
Blake Bell is 266-pounds and ran a 4.65
Dannon Cavill 4.62 (Gundy on his signing day video said he was the second or third best testing WR)

Lol I bet Blake Bell would make a great LT for OU, if he wanted to play on the line

I heard that comment about Cavill too, but I don't buy that he was second or third with that 40. Saunders, Jaz, Shepard and Neal are all faster than 4.6 unless they have gotten slower since last summer.

Saw Knight's bench is 380 in a ESPN article.

RE: Testing times thread

Are these current numbers from winter workouts? I doubt Cavil is our second fastest wr (hope not at least). Saunders and Shepard both are faster. Maybe one didn't test. I'm not sure about Bester and Metoyer. Who am I forgetting? Jaz. He's not a blazer. As long as the slower guys run good routes it doesn't matter though (as well as catching)

I might have to watch the video again but the impression I got was over all testing, lifting, 40, vertical, ect...not just 40.

Re: Testing times thread

Dannon Caville 4.62??  I know a preferred walkon that is 6-3, up to 190, and runs sub 4.6 and verticals over 35 and dominated the state of Oklahoma in receiving.

Re: Testing times thread

Barely faster than Bell. I'd be more interested in their shuttle difference and expect better results from Knight

Re: Testing times thread

I would think Knight's bench press is definitely higher than 280 by quite a bit. I read on another website where he put up some pretty eye popping numbers in testing recently. That kid's athleticism is going to surprise a lot of people I think.

On a size/speed basis, yes.

But Knight is also elusive and create a true QB-run element, extending plays.

I'd love to see Bell at TE!

Re: Testing times thread

If he can break the LOS he's likely gone more times than not depending on the angle

Agree. But I'd have a hard time believing 380. Though Bomar was close to that.

They all run sub-4.6 coming out of HS. Every one of them! lol

Those are some good numbers for a stand-up OLB if OU goes that route.. Hopefully Geneo has a good change in direction movement to go along with that speed!
