Derrick Green

My impression all along was that Green would be a Buckeye if we wanted him... is that the case?

It is never over until its over. The staff has contacted Green and said they were done with RB recruiting, but if a player currently at the RB position decided to transfer after the season I think Green would get a strong look. Although, I don't see that happening and I don't see Green coming to Ohio State.

It might also be true if we were still recruiting him which evidently were not.  As anyone who has watched OSU this year can attest, there is a power running game element to our offense which is also why Meyer wanted to hang onto Dunn.  As soon as Dunn practices up to his potential he will likely get some carries and has 3 years left in the system.

Arguing that a proposition is true because belief in it has good consequences, or that it is false because belief in it has bad consequences is often an irrelevancy.

Re: Derrick Green

Saw Green play Friday night and a number of times last year.  I dont know what it is but he was much quicker last year.  Even though he ripped off a 60 yarder or so, doesnt seem to have the same burst.  Not many yards after contact either.  If Urban wants to recruit the fastest team in the country I'd be surprised if this kid fits his mold.  My sense is that he'll make someone a good running back, but he wont be at OSU whether there is a scholarship available or not.

Moot point now as Hall will redshirt and reduce available ships by one.

Re: Derrick Green

He's a great player, but with Marshall and Elliot and Hall coming back I don't think it would be a great idea with limited schollys.

We need more lineman and linebackers.

There have been several reports that Michigan is hard after Green. I hope Green decides to stay away from the team up North.

I would love to see Green in Scarlet & Gray. With Hall coming back, there is just no room.

Re: Derrick Green

I said early in the process that I wasnt overly impressed by him. Watching his game at the beginning of the yr confirmed my thoughts. He is solid not spectacular. I think he is overrated and the backs on are roster I like more. Including Warren Ball.
