LOL. We'll probably be lumping him in with other 3-star busts like Malcolm Jenkins and A J Hawk.

Sprinkle had offers from elite defensive coaches like Dantonio at MSU, Larry Johnson at Penn State, Taver Johnson at Arkansas and other BCS schools when he committed to OSU.
The day he committed, Georgia and South Carolina called his school about gaging his interest in a visit and potential offers.
He did not camp, play the internet recruiting games and what not, but he is the real deal.
Some pretty good DL coaches I noted above seen that early on.

Good info. The bold makes me shake my head at the current recruiting process. Luckily Urban and staff does their homework

kid is dominating his competition, but it is hard to project how he will perform at the college level.  I suppose we will see in a couple of years.

He has the body to play DT, but at his current weight he has to be a DE.

2014 recruiting wish list
1. Kyle Allen
2. Jamarco Jones
3. Raekwon McMillan

Re: Why did we offer Tracy Sprinkle? He is not that highly rated

Sprinkle just turned 17, so he has a lot of growing to do.  Reported at 6'4" and 265 right now with 4.7 speed.   Marrotti can turn him into a 290 type SSDE/3technique DT real easy with the S and C program.
Word is now, he will enroll early in January, if so even better.  He gets a head start in the conditioning and S and C program, plus spring football.

Sprinkle, as stated earlier,is very young for his age, and is putting his size/strength combo to work. That said, an elite HS d-end playing weak competition should be posting eye popping stats. Adolphus Washington had an absurd number of sacks playing inferior competition.

Washington also had a very solid day fightling off double teams to apply qb pressure.  not too bad for a true freshman.  he can be an absolute beast if he puts in the work.

The kid will be a high 4 star by December.

Shouldnt he really be apart of the 2014 class? Hes turned 16 this summer I thought. Probably a late bloomer but he is putting up some sick stats so far. Might become a 4star by years end like Najee Murray did last year.

This guy will be a DT all the way at the next level. Gotta love the speed and athleticism he has for an inside player. He's the kind of kid that SEC teams brag about having every year.

I think he is exactly the right age for his age.  Yet what do I know.

I put more trust in our coaching staff evaluations more than recruiting sites.

Great sense of humor. I'm actually very HIGH on ALL our three-star recruits this year: Sprinkle, Jacobs (may be another Teddy Ginn Jr.), Darron Lee (love him), and Tim Gardner as well as our 2-star punter, Johnny Townsend. I think that all of them are under-the-radar diamonds-in-the-rough.

Our 3-stars will most likely be rated higher by the end of the season.
