Re: Florida recruiting/Um
Interesting. Thanks. I would like to see what Tressel could've done with a class of 28 recruits.

Re: Florida recruiting/Um
What I find interesting is not a single one of them outside of Tebow did anything while at Florida

The key thing in recruiting for an elite program is that the coach-whomever he is-gets the desired % of the recruits he identifies as initial/primary tragets....UM wanted Ezekiel Elliott as his #1 RB target-and he got him. It doesn't matter if EE's only other offer was Murray State,or if he had offers from half the SEC-which he did. UM saw the kind of RB that would allow his offense to function at the caliber he desired at tOSU.

Re: Florida recruiting/Um
Over the same 6 years, Alabama and Lsu had this: 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 totalAla 33 26 24 32 29 29 174Lsu 18 26 26 25 25 27 147Saban's first class at Ala was 2007.I believe Miles' first class at Lsu was 2005.Ala is averaging 29 new guys every year.Lsu is averaging 25.Averaging 29 every year gives a program an extra class every threeyears. That is NOT a level playing field.

Re: Florida recruiting/Um
Did not format the way I wanted. hard to read.Anyway, over the same 6 years, 05 to 10, Ala signed 174 recruits,29 per year, and lsu signed 147, 25 per year. 29 every year results in an extra class every three years. THAT is not a level playing field.

Re: Florida recruiting/Um
I was trying to point out the 'oversigning' which occurs at some sec schools, such
as Ala. When you average 29 new guys every year, compared to Urb who
averaged 23, Ala, in effect, had an extra class every 4 years. That is quite an
advantage for them. With Tressel, Osu averaged 21 new guys. Alabama would have
an extra class every three years. NOT a level playing field.

Re: Florida recruiting/Um
Jelani Jenkins is a well regarded starter at LB and Elam is a potential AA (yeah, probably not first team) at Safety. All teams have players that don't meet their press clippings and others that seem to come out of nowhere. silverbullet71 wrote: What I find interesting is not a single one of them outside of Tebow did anything while at Florida

Re: Florida recruiting/Um
by OUR choice it's not a level playing field....I wish the B1G would either shut up about it or throw in the towel and join 'em. jakied wrote: I was trying to point out the 'oversigning' which occurs at some sec schools, such

Re: Florida recruiting/Um
Yes picking one kid out of 25 or so is the best way to evaluate. silverbullet71 wrote: What I find interesting is not a single one of them outside of Tebow did anything while at Florida
