Any news about Dorian Johnson?

I read one post that said he officially de-committed from PSU and was now considering Pitt, WVU & OSU. I'm guessing we would not have offered Tim Gardner if the staff thought we had a chance with him. Sure would be sweet to get a true 5* OL in the 2013 class. Anybody know if the staff is actively recruiting him?

Re: Any news about Dorian Johnson?

yes, we still need an OT.  Gardner is an OG, and Johnson is an OT.

We are recruiting Dorian Johnson, and it will probably come down to Pitt vs. OSU.  Hopefully we get him. biggrin

2014 recruiting wish list
1. Kyle Allen
2. Jamarco Jones
3. Raekwon McMillan

Wanna bet Mark May is putting in some personal time trashing us with this kid?  I wouldn't doubt it a bit.

Re: Any news about Dorian Johnson?

I read on ESPN that he was one of the recruits that reaffirmed his commitment to Penn State, along with Hackenberg and Brenneman.  Hackenberg sent out a tweet that included Johnson's name as those sticking with Penn State.

That was nice of Hackenberg to speak for Johnson.

If that's the case, he will get to spend the next four Christmases and New Years, at home with his family......

Still a long way to Feb. 2013 LOI signing day.  Let's see what PSU looks like in early January 2013 after another potential wave of transfers.

I think the 2013 class will only miss 3 bowl games due to sanctions.  But they will probably miss the 4th year because they dont win enough games.

Other than a tweet from the PSU 247 guy, I haven't seen anything about Johnson. Hackenberg, Breneman, Sickels, Fuller, Mahon and Nelson were the verbals who visited and reaffirmed this past weekend.

In this case, I'd say the latter

It's along time until Feb....just remember a week or two ago the whole team was going to rally and stay together....seems the flood gates have opened.

Re: Any news about Dorian Johnson?

Yep...any PSU fan who is sighing in relief at certain verbals saying they will stay committed or certain current players saying they will stay better recognize how quickly that can change.  They have lost their top RB, their top kicker (and Michigan fans know how a kicker can affect things), a top WR is seriously looking at Oklahoma...and they've lost other contributors as well.  And if you go back to February you realize that they've lost even more than that.

So...IF the losses start piling up you know the media will start piling on even more than they are now.

It will be an even worse dumpster fire than it is now....and those verbals will start decommitting and current players will have MUCH more time to research potential moves since they have until the start of camp 2013.

PSU fans have a LOT to be concerned with player/recruit attrition.

admirable, considering the situation and it won't hurt their ability to get into the Pro's one little bit.

Because they will all be in the pros? Horrible argument. A vast majority of college players won't see the nfl. The only people that would call it admirable are psu fans period.

Re: Any news about Dorian Johnson?

Dorian Johnson decommits to penn State, then a few days later Hackenburg tweets that johnson is committed to Penn State.  That doesn't make any sense that he would recommit a few days later. This is just wishful thinking on Hackenburg's part.  Johnson is gone. Hackenburg needs to move on.
