D. Stanly was on the Sunday early afternoon show this past weekend. He picked a 49ers-Ravens Super Bowl. He's gonna be on this Sunday too.

i've been out of columbus for a while, but isn't 97.1 the "easy listening" channel ? BassFshr wrote: Glad to hear D Stanly was replaced. I quit listening to 97.1 in the afternoon because of him. For some reason I just couldn't stand listening to him. He didn't seem to know all that much about what was going on in the world of sports and was way too arrogant for my taste. I do hope he finds employment elsewhere but I won't miss him.

I would take Rothman, Stanley, Bishop, Lachey, Dee Miller or anyone else you threw at me over....
Beavis and Butthead, Tweetle Dumb and Tweetle Dumber or Common Man and his partner, however you want to refer to them.
I prefer to hear sports talk not high school humor.

- No need for discussion, Urban Meyer knows more than you do.

It's weird... I really did not like him on the afternoon show. I would often turn the station because he was so bad. But I really do like him on the roundtable show. He seems so much more insightful and natural on there. It's like he is two different guys on these shows.

Re: 97.1 "Fan", host
For those who dont like Common man and Torg (before he got fired) must not have a humorous side or understand what their show is all about. There is a reason that it is the #2 sports talk radio show in the Country. They managed to get The President of the United States to give his first radio interview ever. I dont think anyone can replace Torg. The way he and Common Man worked so well together will be hard to match.

There's no competition...in the country? Just bc message board posters don't care for them (hey that's your right) doesn't mean your opinion reflects the majority. It's like Cowherd, most of us HATE the guy but many more people disagree. I personally like the Common Man, if I want serious sports analysis I can read various reputable sites or television programs. But if I want some sports related humor, I will take him over most other radio shows. I think some people can be a bit uptight around here and thankfully do not represent the majority of buckeye fans. --------------------------------------------- --- mrbigbux wrote: BuckeyeDaJuiceMan wrote: For those who dont like Common man and Torg (before he got fired) must not have a humorous side or understand what their show is all about. Kirk Herbstriet got Torg fired, because Torg tweeted "Desmond Howard needs to die so I can watch College Gameday again" Obviously joking, he says the same kind of stuff on air and never got in trouble for it, but throw in Herbies bf (take that how ever u want) and you get fired.

--------------------------------------------- Sorry - did not know 97.1's signal reached the entire country. So if you say they are #2 in the country - so be it. Anyway - If you like that sophomoric type of humor knock yourself out. My option is not to listen and that is what i do.

Personal training, mortgage brokering and insurance salesman have got to be the most usual careers for non-NFLers.
Oh, and Enterprise Rent-a-Car employees. --------------------------------------------- --- rls321 wrote:
