Everyone,

Posted: 7/17/2012 3:22 PM

Everyone,

it seems that every recruiting season our Buckeyes lose out on a recruit whom everyone

wanted to be a Buckeye.  we have seen Josh Jenkins, Mike Munoz, Jason Gwaltney,

Jerome Barksdale, Hicks (the linebacker from cincinnati, went to tex, first name escapes me)

etc, break our hearts.  Who else have we lost and thought our world was about to end?

Rico McCoy is another.

Have any of the recruits we lost gone on to stardom at their school of choice?

You can tell i am bored right now.

Re: Everyone,

And Trey DePriest was the LB who went to Alabama.  I think he was from around Dayton or Springfield.

Re: Everyone,

We didn't lose him to another school but the recruit I feel we most missed out on was Drushaun Humphrey, may he rest in peace.

6'-4", 4.4 40, 240 lbs.  His stats were like Eddie George when he was just a junior in high school.

I remember that-I almost cried when I read about it-JT gave his mom a NC ring after the 2002 season.

People were flipping out about Kyle Prater-6'6 WR-not getting an offer, and he has already transferred from USC-not sure where, maybe NW.

There's a certain kind of reassuring white rock....and some people do well with that.....

Stanley McGlover and Andre Walker were surprises.

Re: Everyone,

I'm struggling to think of any that I felt were crushing losses.

I remember being very upset at Kalis when he decided not to attend OSU.  But that was far from crushing.  It actually just fuels the rivalry.

RE: Everyone,

Technically you lose every recruit that goes somewhere else. At some point they said no to Ohio state. So i would say, Dan Marino, Barry Sanders, Tim Tebow, Red Grange, Ray Lewis are some of the bigger ones.

You can't lose what you never had a chance to have.

They weren't good enough to receive Buckeye offers.

Re: Everyone,

How is Walker doing at Usc?  I heard he was up to close to 4 bills.  Wow!  Way too much.

NO ONE should be that big.  I wish the big fella well at Usc and hope he is down to 310 or so.

Re: Everyone,

Aundrey Walker has lost ~80lbs. since he arrived at USC, is now under 300 and will be the starting LT in '12. http://nfldraftmonsters.com/in...-walker-ot-usc/

Re: Everyone,

before I scrolled down to see everyone's answers the first ones that came to my mind...
Fred Davis, he came on late at USC (had a case of homesickness IIRC) and has the potential to be a top 5 NFL TE.  definitely lost on him.

Larry Fitzgerald, not sure we "lost" on him.  IIRC wasn't it grades that kept him out of OSU?

Willis Mcgahee said he had serious interest in OSU but the cold kept him away.  guess it wasn't very serious then right...

the OL kid from NJ that went to Rutgers.  stardom and Rutgers don't necessarily go in the same sentence in CFB... but he did well enough to get drafted high in the first round right?

RoJo (USC) was pretty high on everyones list, and we were his leader for a while, until sneaky pete closed the deal.

I don't remember how hard they went after Spencer Ware, but he's doing well at LSU. He could be considered a "loss".

mayber K. Prater is another?

Go Bucks!!

Re: Everyone,

Fred Davis was pretty surprising.

Ware wanted to play baseball in the SEC, which he doesn't anymore.

RE: Everyone,

Anthony Davis is #1, he would of replace Boone and would of anchor the line for four years.

Jordan Hicks is the other one that really pissed me off, but I knew Texas would win ultimately.

There's so many more, these are just the two that tops the list.
