Top CB Hargreaves to Visit tOSU
Ohio State already has the third- and fourth-ranked defensive backs in the nation from the ESPN 150 class of 2013 in Eli Woodard (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern) and Cam Burrows(Trotwood, Ohio/Trotwood-Madison). Could there be a chance to grab No. 1? The Buckeyes could find out soon, as Vernon Hargreaves III (Tampa, Fla./Wharton) plans to visit Ohio State on July 16. Hargreaves is also the No. 4 ranked player in the country. “Yes, that’s the plan,” his mother Jackie said in a phone conversation. “He said he will be there within the next two weeks.”http://espn.go.com/colleges/osu/index

So maybe a class with Hargreaves and Woodard at corner, with Burrows and maybe Bell at safety? I might be able to live with that.

The only problem with those four is that they would sound more like a primary than a secondary.

Maybe I'm getting him mixed up with another cb recruit but I thought this young man had some serious interest in the Bucks.. Then all talk seemed to cool on him.. Think it will be difficult to pull him out of the south? Secondary would be nasty!

makes sense with howard a senior and roby a possibility to leave early. wed be dangerously thin next year if burrows and/or powell go to safety.

I just don't see Hargreaves at Ohio State. But, if he wanted to be a Buckeye he plays corner and moves to one of the top shut down corners on the team immediately. This kid is fast and fluid out of breaks and very quick.
More teams are going to 3 and 4 wide sets and having another corner capable of playing one on one is a great defensive asset. Burrows is still a top talent. You need more than 1 or 2 corners. You really need 4 good ones on any championship team.
I hope Hargreaves loves his visit. Go Bucks!

Jayme Thompson shouldn't be forgotten, he's been tearing up camps and recruiting others like Vonn Bell to OSU. If we were to add Bell and Hargreaves to this class, it would be unreal. 3 of the top 5 corners in the nation, the number 2 safety in the nation, and a up and coming star in Thompson.... Are you freakin kidding me??!!! Add that to our defensive line and watch out!
That being said, is it Hargreaves father that coaches at southern Florida? If it is, it would probably be a hard get. But, if he doesn't want to play for his dad, he may be more open to leaving the south all together, and OSU could be a good fit for this kid. Just speculating here

Did some research and answered my own question. It is Hargreaves father that coaches at USF. He's the special teams and defensive ends coordinator since 2010. The good news is that I've read that young Mr Hargreaves is not a USF lock, and he is truly considering other schools. FWIW

Man, I would hate to go to college and have my dad be a coach. You go to college to learn independence and get away from your parents, but whatever floats his boat its his decision.
