JT Barrett...

With getting playmakers (JMarshall, DWilson, JClark, CSmith) it makes me wonder of Barrett's skill level in passing and ability to get the ball to these guys ?  Braxton's passing ability has been so-so but has 2 years to improve which hopefully he will do so.  Haven't seen Barrett play but from what I see of his Scout profile below seems positive.  Has anyone seen his film / watch him play and how does his passing ability appear ?

Barrett is a very consistent and accurate thrower and is also a dual-threat who
can pull the ball down and run at anytime. A true leader. He is one of those
guys that makes everyone around him better. Because his skills are balanced so
equally he is exactly the type of prospect that many offensive coordinators are
searching for to run their spread style offenses. He does not have a rocket, but
can make throws and has touch on his deep ball.

GO BUCKS !!!

Hmmm...that's surprising ?  It seems doubtful Urban would recruit a player destined to be a backup but we shall see how he develops...

Should compete for the job in 2 years. Like his skillset, but will probably face some serious competition.

I would not be too surprised if he beats Cardale Jones for the #3 QB slot(if Urban decides not to redshirt him).

How is he recovering from major knee surgery? Tough break. I wish him the best.

Will find out in a couple of years. I think he is going to be perfect.

Re: JT Barrett...

One thing the staff has been clear on, and I heard the coaches mention today is Barrett's leadership and competitiveness. Herman related a story of an impressive speech Barrett gave during a recruiting trip a few weeks ago.....very impressive for w true freshman who has been on campus less than a month and is rehabbing his knee. Also mentioned he is a grinder.

Yes, Herman felt Barrett's speech and involvement left a real positive impression on Wilson and Clark during their visit. Love a qb that has that special leadership quality.

RE: JT Barrett...

I'm not saying Barrett is destined to be a back up, but why would that be surprising?  Would you prefer the situation Maryland was in this year?

Most QB's on a roster are destined to be backups
