Meyer discussed National vs. Regional recruiting.

Many people have wondered whether we'll get away from offering as many Ohio/Midwestern kids.

Meyer said today that he'd actually prefer more Ohio kids than we got in this class. But due to the late start that he and the staff got on the 2013 class, they missed some Ohio kids that they likely would have offered. Without mentioning his name, I'm pretty sure that he was talking about Trubisky at one point.

Not trying to start an argument, but seeing as he got here in December 2011, he had a little bit of time (particularly for a potential QB) but -- forgive my beer-soaked brain -- I don't recall him even offering Trubisky until much later than one might think.

I'm guessing he was referring to someone like Dymonte Thomas.  But, I think we came out ahead on that one.

When you consider recruiting is a2 year process, it makes sense

Absolutely. The staff has been on the 2014 kids for a year already.
