Scary that the decision can cause so much pain and concern to his parents and evidently himself. Those emotions have to be a concern for home sickness, second thoughts, transfer potential, etc. It MAY be parents wanting him closer and favoring their OWN college so hopefully he's enough of his own man to stick.

Or maybe what you are seeing there is two parents overwhelmed with pride for their son and the fact that he is moving on to the next phase of his life.  From everything I've seen from the Elliott's they are very classy dedicated parents.

Never said that they were not classy or great parents, just concerned over the very strong emotional display, the young man doesn't leave for what, six months?

Actually, I just received word that Ohio State lost the fax.
Stay tuned.  This could get interesting.

The emotions of watching your kid grow up is not measurable in a calendar sense.

They look like proud parents who only want the best for their son. Mad props to dad for his scarlet & gray suit/tie combo.

Elliott's dad really wanted him to go to Mizzou.  Was crying after the decision, and they weren't tears of joy.  Indicated he had dreamed of watching Zeke play in the same uniform he wore.

But he also said he didn't push Zeke to go to Mizzou.  Understood that his role as a parent was to support Zeke throughout the process and allow him to make the decision himself.

The John Burroughs coach, ex-NFL QB Gus Frerotte, said Ohio State won the battle because they did a better job of recruiting Zeke.

Yes, there is no back story at all or history that would lead other posters to react in such a way.

Isn't that the point of recruiting? IF you ever get a chance to go to a game and see the mass of Buckeye nation and see the atmosphere , you would understand what EZE is talking about in his commitment video......

I am sure the atmosphere was a big factor, but Frerotte certainly appeared to be referring to the fact that Mizzou did not expend the effort until Elliott had already committed to Ohio State.  The Buckeyes outworked the Tigers in their own back yard.

It ain't easy, especially for really close families.  He's gotta be there mentally, can't be feeling sorry for himself.  If he does, being down all the time could jeopardize his career. Good luck to EE, if you are in Columbus make sure you guys do what you can to make him feel welcome, we are all a family a big Buckeye family.

I really like this picture. Two parents worried about their child. Having sent kids out of town for college, I can understand the emotions.
