Matt Finnin

Nebraska commit 6-7 315 OT from Illinois offered by Buckeyes. Anyone have any info on this kid?
Attention: We are now boarding Champions.

Re: Matt Finnin

I would be skeptical of that.  Not saying we can't use additional OL Depth but a guy with 2 years left isn't a good fit.  He's not breaking into the lineup this year - proably not even 2 deep without some injuries.  Wouldn't make sense for HIM let alone OSU.

He was offered Monday so he is being recruited. 4* on scout , 3* on espn. maybe a little late on him with signing day next week. He is a big kid.

I didn't say you didn't hear the information.  I'm saying I don't buy it.  And it would be a mistake for him to come here, frankly.  I'd think he'd want to go somewhere he'd have a chance to play right away.  That ain't here.

Finnin is ranked the No. 6 junior college offensive tackle according to the 247Sports composite index .

The 6'8" 305-pound big man excells at pass pro and initially projects at left tackle by some.
Stated that he "wants to play for a national championship".
Much better chance of that at OSU than Nebraska.
Game reps may be limited in 2013 but great chance to start for a national title contender in 2014.

Yeh, read his scouting report. He could provide depth off the bench in 2013, and possibly start in 2014 agreed.  Coaching Staff definetly wants the kid, or why the offer...

JUCO OL Matt Finnin has just informed me that he will not take a visit to the  # Buckeyes and remains solid in his commit to  # Nebraska

Good. Nebraska needs all the talent they can get. They had a huge blow losing that safety from Mooney to fricking Kentucky

Ohio State is beginning to run out of options along the offensive line for 2013. Urban Meyer is not known for recruiting prospects from the juco ranks, but the Buckeyes are trying to pull a signing day coup with a tackle committed elsewhere after striking out on several offensive tackles recently.
