"Every time you see a University of Michigan team," Robinson said after the game, "you're going to see a team that's going to play together and fight until there's two zeros on the clock."

Re: New Team Rankings
Your use of capital letters indicates that you must be serious lol, I'll oblige. The main site for rankings, Scout, has Michigan #1. Being in the top 10 of any recruiting class rankings is quite remarkable. Different sites may switch the order but the fact remains all of our classes are good, simple as that.

Wow so who named Scout the "main site for rankings". Scout's ranking of scums class is what we would call a statistical outlier. Still a good class, but not the greatest of all time like some scum fans are proclaiming.

Re: New Team Rankings
Let's be honest. Most people who post here, go by Scout's rankings. It's not that hard to admit that our rival has a good class. I happen to think ours is better, but it's understandable to see why they would think there's is.

Re: New Team Rankings
Even with Scout, the ratings are a little misleading. Meatchicken has four more recruits than Ohio State, yet only lead by about 500 total points. Ohio State has the second best average per recruit, 3.91, behind USC's crazy average of almost 4.5. OSU recruits average almost 200 points per man which, if they had the same number of recruits as Meatchicken, would have them significantly ahead of everyone.
USC has had great recruiting classes for quite a while but what has it led to the past couple of years? They were some peoples' preseason number one yet ended the season barely above .500.
So, these rankings, as everyone with a pulse knows, mean very little other than bragging rights. Let's wait until they play a game or two before making them future NFL Pro Bowlers

Re: New Team Rankings
My sentiments exactly, QC. I think they have an incredible class. Ours suits our needs better, and I think that man-for-man, I like our class better, but that doesn't make their class any less impressive. I have no idea why any of their recruits would want to play there, but that's their choice. The proof will be in the pudding. They are beginning to bring in some pretty good classes. Will that translate to long-term success on the field with Hoke at the helm? Time will tell. QCBUCK wrote: Let's be honest. Most people who post here, go by Scout's rankings. Re: New Team Rankings
Why bring UM into the discussion? Just be happy the Bucks have a great class.

Re: New Team Rankings
Rankings are dumb. Saying they are bringing in a bunch of highly though of athletes is great. Looking at the positions and if they may or may not be ready early in their careers interesting. Pretending some internet geek "scout" can tell the difference between the 14th and 25th best WR prospect is silly. OSU has some great recruits. Michigan has some great ones. Hopefully Hoke will win a big game up there against a quality team someday so we can get this conference to be more than Ohio State and the 11 also rans. Until then we'll just enjoy whippin' up on them.

Re: New Team Rankings
Just look at which schools won their conference titles the most this 2000 era we live, who went to the most BCS bowls and title games in the 2000 era we lived, and who finished in most 5 final top 5 of the polls after all bowl games. These rankings have bias towards regions and site traffic, it's like picking from 10 whose the best to eat out on town guides, you will find the top place to eat steak at 10 different places based on bias or surveys. Ohio State with the first critieria I laid out is the gold standard of the midwest, no one else need apply or is even close to those criteria for this 2000 era. Alabama, LSU, USC (rough road as of late), Florida (bump in the road the last two years) and new comer Oregon are the top of the heap right now with OSU. Texas's recent woes and Chokelahoma always losing bad in bowls, need not apply. Site rankings garbage vs. real results, OSU is the gold standard and the kind of the midwest, we have a few other piers right with us from the south and out west, that is it. The teams that win their conferences, get to BCS bowls and BCS title games, and finish in top 5 of final polls are obvioulsy targeting the best talent for their system, and landing and developing talent better than all the rest, even different than some of these bogus rankings these sites have based off of a lot of various bias factors. Once once again, in this 2000 era, OSU is the gold standard of the midwest, and no one else is even close.

Re: New Team Rankings
I like how when Scott Kennedy discussed the top 25 recruiting rankings they had Michigan at #1 in total points and they took the average rating of the top 20 recruits.
Why would you use the average of the top 20 recruits, when the top 25 recruits are included in the rankings? I could see using the average of all the recruits or the top 25 recruits but not the top 20.
Hey, whatever it takes to justify UM as the #1 recruiting class in the nation, when no other reputable service has them in the top 3.
