Re: Trey Johnson visited Tennessee this weekend...

Wow, you're right. ESPN has Trey Johnson rated as the #48 overall player. They have Mitchell at #128.

Whereas Scout has Mitchell as the #28 overall player, and Johnson at #203.

Rivals has Mitchell as the #26 overall player, and Johnson at #105.

I had no idea that ESPN had Johnson ranked so highly. That's great. He'll look in a Buckeyes uniform.

ESPN's rankings suck, heavily biased towards the SEC and southern states.

TOS rankings are better, with a heavy emphasis on Pro Potential ie. height, weight and speed.

Scout looks more at college potential with less emphasis on hws.

247?  Who cares?

I look at TOS and Scout only when it comes to recruiting.  They both do a good job in their own way.

You can find some serious flaws and outliers in every recruiting service. That's why I use 247's composite rankings which average the rankings of the players from all 4 major site.

Best way to remove bias in my mind.

Yeah but the bias on ESPN is ridiculous; ESPN will never change because of their tv contracts with the SEC. It's in their best interest to rank players commited to SEC schools higher.

247 is too new to have the type of infrastructure, not to mention contacts to be taken seriously at this point.

Maybe things change in the future, but right now Scout and TOS are heads and shoulders above the rest.

There's already a thread for this.  I started the thread over 24 hours ago.
It's titled "Trey Johnson".

Is this another one that is a soft verbal at this point?  Wasn't he supposed to visit Georgia Tech too?

There's a lot of buzz that you and experto had gay sex with one another last night.  Fact or fiction?

I guess this thread is heading for the Sh*tter. Kinda like RBUCC did on Expereto! eek
Look like you're wrong too.  He indeed visited Tennessee this weekend.

Already proved false...nothing to see here.
Well, whoever proved it, didn't prove jack.  He did visit Tennessee this weekend, and that is now fact.

The people on this board that were WRONG.
My information was dead on.
I bring more inside info to this board than the rest of you combined.
This proves it.  Unlike that Buckeye Juice guy that is always wrong on here.
Yep, James Quick sure committed to Ohio State, lol.  Same for Shelton Gibson.
The people that claim they have inside sources on this board are a crock of sh.
They don't even have what I have, which is 2nd hand information (which is still more accurate that what anybody else seems to have on here).

Re: Trey Johnson visited Tennessee this weekend...

Auburn is pushing but not hard they don't expect a real shot at him. They tried to get him in this comig weekend for a big recruiting drive but doesn't sound like it went anywhere. They've all but moved on. Strange things happen but don't see AU in the picture last I heard.

This one has me worried. Rumors of him being heavily pursued again by auburn and now somewhat secretly taking an official to tennessee just seems a little awkward to me but if he doesn't want to be a buckeye then let him go...I want players who want to be here.

Just like you where wrong on thread being deleted?
Please explain this insider info and your sources.  You throw enough darts at a dart board your bound to hit a bullseye.  Because I have seen you proven wrong time after time in the time I have read this board before joining this board.

It must be a sad existense to have to have multiple user names and have to up a thread everytime you do post something thats true.

But no, he didn't visit Tech.

RE: Trey Johnson

Trey father Wilbur Johnson Jr. comments on his son visit to UT from TOS.
“The kid is 18 years old,” Wilbur said. “He and I have always been up front with each other. He wanted to go. He and the [Tennessee] linebackers coach have been friends -- maybe not friends, but through the recruiting process have known each other for a long time.

“He said he wanted to go up and hang out. Talk football and things of that nature. That’s what the trip was. It was football and basically, that’s what the trip was about.”

“As far as I know, he’s still a Buckeye,” Wilbur said. “Everything is Ohio State.”

Re: Trey Johnson

Bottom line to all of this is that I'm sure that Urb made the best possible pitch for him or anyone else for that matter to play at tOSU. We just have to assume that the coaches have things under control and are on top of the situation.

247 don't have contacts? Bobby Burton started Rivals before starting 247, he makes even Farrell's Little Black Book look thin.

2013 LB Trey Johnson went to visit with a TEN LB this past weekend. The linebacker is still "100%" committed to Ohio State
