Both are great prospects at their respective positions, but with the problems OSU had this past season at LB, that was the necessary position to fill.

I would've loved to get Quick because he'll be a very good college player, but I have a little more faith in the WRs/ATHs that OSU has pulled in than some.

WTF are you talking about? If people on this board think SEC players are fasterthan OSU players, you need to research this a little more!!! The difference you see in speed is coaching philosophy and playing style, not actually differences in true speed.

I am pumped we got Mike Mitchell... But without him, we would definitely add Worley and be just fine!!!

The best of Ohio can compete with the best of ANYONE!!! We locked up Curtis Gran two years ago, but buckeye born and buckeye bred Justin Boren (a senior FB) was our integral LB as Grant rode the bench!

Pride for your state and university is something that can not be recruited!!! I hope all OOS recruits we bring in are dedicated, fine, hard working young men.... Because there are literally in state kids that would kill for their shot to put on the Scarlett and Gray!!!

You can time a 40, count a bench rep and measure a vertical... But there is still NO legitimate way to measure a players heart and determination!!!

I still think OSU should fill every class of ~20 kids with 70% Ohio kids (either raised here, born here, or family from here) and the rest OOS (~6 a year)!!!

A Michigan University football team with p*ssed off elite Ohio born talent is a scary thing to play against the 4th Saturday of November!!!! I FIRMLY believe that!!!

I could easily see him accidentally adding ~30-40 pounds over 3-4 years (given his height and frame). And staying in the 4.4-4.5 range.

We need Mtchell at linebacker.

I'm hopeful that he can step in and compete for playing time right away. The opportunity is certainly there.

Besides Katzenmoyer, have we had any other linebackers that have started from day one?

Hell we need a middle linebacker bad.  We don't need another DE.  I can't remember the last great MLB for OSU.  I want Kazenmoyer, Speilman;  I guess the last great one was our 1st team all american off the 2002 team.

I think mitchell is a slight upgrade due to his speed. Shazier really sold me on speed at the lb position.

Mitchell is also an upgrade because he has a brother I want playing OSU bball.

First and foremost lbs need to have good reactions and instinct.  Size and Speed help after the fact.  Zach Boren showed us this year how important instinct and reaction is at the position.  He was very effective without great speed.   I remember Brian Rolle being an undersized lb with great instincts and speed.  And he was awesome for us.  Grant has all the physical tools, but has struggled so far with reaction.  He has been  too tentative.  Hopefully the light goes on for some of these young backers.

remember boren lost 20 pounds in the offseason, he was faster, but yes instinct is important or else curtis grant would be starting.

Congratulations to Mike Mitchell on becoming a Buckeye!  Best decision he'll make all his life!
