I hope we close out
this recruiting effort with Mitchell/Bell/Johnson. 3 great defensiveprospects. Call it a day and move on to 2014.

We NEED some more receivers to run the offense Meyer wants. He lamented earlier in the year that we don't have enough receivers do to the things he wants, and since then we've lost 3 underclassmen WRs to attrition. There will be at the very least 1, and likely 2 or possibly even 3 more skill guys in this class.

Quick would be a nice addition but I don't see that happening now.
Jalin Marshall may be the most important new guy in 2013.

Shelton Gibson is a lock for this class provided he makes the grade, and if not Quick then look for at least one other speed guy on offense. Either Elder, Stevens, Timmons, or a surprise.

I wonder since we are so deep at RB next year-Hyde, Hall, Smith, Dunn, Ball-that we may move Elliott to WR next year to help with depth.

4. Quick (Elder is plan B if he goes to louisville)
5. Gibson (Timmons is plan B if Gibson does not qualify)
6. Bell
biggest question marks are the WR...but osu is taking 2 of these four guys: gibson, quick, elder and timmons)

Well, Urb is doing and will do great things for Osu. Boy, I can't wait to see what the future
will bring. Next 10 years : 8-2 v mich, 7 big 10 championships, 2 Ncs, 6-2 in bcs bowls.
Not that i am greedy.

12 months ago you would have thought the 2 LBs and 1 safety would be Jaylon Smith, McCray and Dymonte. Now it is Mitchell, Johnson and Bell. A fluid process for sure.

If we close with Mitchell, Bell, and Johnson on defense we will have one of the best defensive classes in a long, long time. The offense needs a few to take it over the top also. If we get Gibson and Quick then we would have an abundance of offensive playmakers in this class as well.
I would take those five and move on to next year.
How could you not love to have Marshall, Quick, and Gibson to design an offensive passing game around. Add Barrett, Baugh, and Elliott and you have enough playmakers to control the tempo in any game.
That would be over the top win win on both sides.

The 2012 defensive class was strong and very strong up front, but not overall the talent that we could get in the 2013 Class. The key is to add depth over several years so you can deal with the unexpected injury and still have a rotation to dominate the tempo of the game.
The 2013 Class could have more top end balance across all positions.
