Re: Last 6-7 to Commit?

Not sure why anyone would be down on Timmons unless you're just watching the star ratings.  I'm sure he would have a positive impact on Meyer's offense.

B/c actions taken by coaching staff that don't completely line up w/ the wisdom of the star hander outers hurt the feelings/ego of the star swallowers. I'm sure if Timmons was from Tampa or Dallas instead of Frankfort,KY, his recruiting profile would be higher.

They won't take Timmons AND Elder.

In fact, they won't take Timmons. End of discussion.

If that is the end of the discussion, does that mean this thread is closed?

His competition is garbage and he is not all that impressive.

And how was Terrelle Pryor's HS competition or Ross Homan's or Colt McCoy's? HCs take the nature of small school competition into account when evaluating players. If a kid from a small school gets an offer, it means the coaches have done their homework.

It's not certain how we end up on signing day but I will bet Meyer gets the kids he wants the most.

And Timmons doesn't have an offer, so you just proved yourself wrong.  I am not all that impressed with his film.  Give me Quick, Gibson, Dontre Wilson, Mitchell, Johnson and Bell.  I think we end with those guys.

I haven't proven anyone right or wrong. If UM wants to offer Timmons a scholarship, he will do so. If he doesn't, he doesn't. Big time prospects-like Adolphus Washington last year-sometimes have garbage competition. No sense spazzing out when someone responds w/ 5 names from a list of prospects given.

Bill Greene @ BillBankGreene

Trey Johnson WILL be announcing tomorrow as planned. And I think I know where he's going. Scratch that. It's Ohio State.

also, this.... not that I think anything would come of it for us.

Bill Greene @ BillBankGreene

Cameron Hunt will be taking officials to Cal. Michigan. Oregon. But don't count out a visit to Ohio State the very last weekend.

Impressive that Michigan gets another good offensive linemen to visit after they have all their other 2013 o-line guys in the bag. They are recruiting well at that position. Odd that the competition factor is not in play there.

I agree.  A buddy of mine, who happens to be a Michigan fan for some reason, speculated that it is because it is so unclear which ones will pan out.  That's a lot wasted scholarships, imo, but, as you said, they're definitely recruiting well at that position.

In any case, Hunt did just get an OSU offer!

This is one to keep an eye on. Urb visited him a couple of weeks ago, and if we get the last visit, he just might land in Columbus. Watch his video....he's a good one.

vonn bell, quick or gibson or both, trey, mike. that's 4 or 5 (i think if quick commits gibson may look to WV. i know we have some o-line offers, maybe 6 if an o-line commits.

I like Shelton gibson, he's a sleeper, quick and gibson are both homerun threats,

Our scholarship commitments sit at 79 for 2013, meaning we have 3 openings right now.

There's still a chance that we'll lose Hyde/Roby to the NFL.

And I would be shocked if there weren't more defections this offseason because of playing time - more like Verlon Reed will be coming, IMO.

So taking 6 is a stretch right now, but if the coaches are taking that many it's because they know something we don't know about who will be here next year.
