24-25 is the number, could be 23 if we bust out on a lot of guys. I think we take at least Johnson, Worley, Mitchell, and 1-2 more receivers, probably 2. Hankins is gone and there will be 4-6 players to depart before August as there always is.

ohlord....
What? Its my opinion, you don't have to share it. Sorry JT is not here anymore, we're not going to keep the Evan Blankenship types around 5 years anymore. Agree or disagree with getting rid of non contributes, its how you win in today's age and the handful of people with no futures on the team are going to be on transfer watch.
Yours?  The chat wasn't even cold yet....

Maybe tomorrow, when today will be yesterday things will be clearer.

Re: Scholarships for 2013

We're currently at 81 scholarship commitments for 2013.

If Hankins/Roby/Hyde leave, that will free up some room.

If some players transfer/quit then that will free up some room.

This number already takes into account the expected medical hardship of Jamie Wood.

LOL the chat? Really? You needed the chat to tell you that? Wow, I thought it was common knowledge.

Only been saying 24-25 for like a month now. Guess what, only way to get there is transfers.

How many more ships do we have to do without until we are back at full strength.  We did have to lose what 15 ships over 3 years.  Where do we stand on that?

9 ships over 3 years.

3 off last years class, 3 off this years class, and 3 of next years class.

Sorry, I guess I must have been thinking of USC.  Great.  Get ready to roll on into Columbus boys!

The chat..ohlord  you know what I mean.  But coming to the free board with $$$ stuff discussed make you feel important.. noidea

No the numbers have not been common knowledge for months.. Guess by some it could get into the 20's but going into the year 15-17 was what tOSU had space for.

As for the Blankenship's of the team WILL NOT BE FORCED OUT.  tOSU isn't going to be an over-signing factory. jmho  But who am I to question about attrition?  imho.  I hate to see guys leave.  I rather them succeed.  I like the Malcolm Jenkins and Roby kind of stories.  The Eugene Clifford and Jamal Berry story suck.

Re: Scholarships for 2013

Meyer has shown no inclination he will give a push to your Domicones or Chris Fields of the world.

I believe the count right now is at 21 to give.

We were at 82 in April, started the season with 78 after bobek, Bellamy, berry and ken Hayes left.
Got down to 75 with Wood retiring due to injury and southward/Ty Williams leaving.
75-14 seniors = 61 returners
Hall coming back brought it to 62, Hankins leaving puts it back to 61.

Now, I would expect a transfer or hardship somewhere, as Meyer doesn't over sign. I think we lose one more and Gibson, Mitchell and Worley fill out the class.

Maybe more guys going to draft as well, rumors of O-L Mewhort, Hall may test the waters, maybe Hyde, coach knows alot more about spots than we do.
Attention: We are now boarding Champions.

Norwell's NFL draft stock is way, way above Hall's and would be the other OL to worry about.

I also think there is a good chance one of the remaining targets (even if he signs LOI) goes the Fork Union route to get fully prepared academically.
