Well it is time to see how Urban finishes

This will be something cool to watch.

The first real "finish" to a class for Urban Meyer at Ohio State.

Getting Conley was a GREAT start to the weekend.

The best case scenario finish:

Vonn Bell
Mike Mitchell
Trey Johnson
James Quick
David Dawson
Shelton Gibson

Then the next teir to replace a name or two on that list if they go elsewhere
Corey Smith
Donovan Munger
Cornelius Elder
Tony Stevens
Chris Worley some say he is committed?

Then the kicker...is Urban in on someone that is not even in the discussion?  This team needs some more OL recruits snagging Dawson would be huge if he does not come maybe Munger is an OL?  Munger would be an OG like Dawson.

Corey Smith I think is a Buckeye lock may replace Gibson if WVU and his grades point him in that direction?

Never argue with an idiot, people watching may not be able to tell the difference.

Good list, but I'm not so sure that I'd put Dawson ahead of Munger.

Do you think we get those 3? I say Mitchell we get Mitchell and Johnson, but not Quick.

I think we'll miss out on a couple of the big names (likely Quick and Bell) but land some studs: Gibson, Munger, Johnson hopefully, Worley, Mitchell, and a surprise like a Corey Smith or Corn Elder/Ryan Timmons type.

The best case scenario finish:

Vonn Bell - 70% chance of coming.  I think we lead and we have a much better chance of landing him than other Buckeye fans think.  for the past 6 months when asked about the schools he is considering, he has always listed OSU first!

Mike Mitchell - his visit is over this weekend.  He will be blown away.  He will talk to his dad and I expect a commitment in the next 2-3 weeks!

Trey Johnson - recommit to Auburn or will come here.  Auburn is in shambles, but with Reuben Foster decommitting, Johnson may see more PT at Auburn than OSU and go back to Auburn, especially considering the '14 LBs that are heavily considering OSU in McMillan, Garrett, and Booker are all better prospects.

James Quick - 40% OSU, 60% Louisville.  Strong not leaving will play an important factor, and my optimism he comes here, although not 0%, is not as great as maybe a month ago, when Strong was certain to leave (and may well leave next year).

David Dawson - not coming IMO

Shelton Gibson - Buckeye if qualifies, otherwise he might not want to wait a year at Fork Union and might pull the trigger for a school with poor academics like WVU.

2014 recruiting wish list
1. Kyle Allen
2. Jamarco Jones
3. Raekwon McMillan

Re: Well it is time to see how Urban finishes

Urban's "finish" last year (2011/2012) was nothing short of spectacular. Maybe - never to be duplicated.

Spence - FIVE STAR DE
Dodson - FOUR STAR OT
Decker - FOUR STAR OT
O'Conner - FOUR STAR OL
Perkins - FOUR STAR LB
Reeves - FOUR STAR CB
Marcus - THREE STAR LB
Williams - FOUR STAR LB
Schutt - FOUR STAR DL
Pittman - FOUR STAR DE

Wasn't Schutt a five star as well?

Well, you can take Corey Smith off of your backup list -- he verbaled to Miss St.

I don't see anything changing.

Bell - Bama
Mitchell - A&M
Gibson - WVU
Quick - Louisville
Johnson - Florida

Smith - Verbal to Miss St.
Munger - Verbal to tOSU
Elder - Tennessee or Ole Miss
Stevens - FSU or SC
Worley - tOSU or WVU

Urban made a pretty confident statement regarding the 2013 recruiting class; and he's now focusing a lot on 2014.

I think it's in tOSU & Meyer's best interest to start looking at the 2014 recruiting class. I don't see anymore "big names" in this class.

Last seasons last minute rush to bolt PSU helped Meyer secure a strong class; however, it's not going to be so easy for Meyer to recruit like he was able to last year because PSU type situations don't happen too often. He also will have a more difficult time recruiting the players he wants from the South -- CBus isn't sunny & warm year round nor do recruits want to leave the South or play in the Big Ten over SEC. Say what you want about Hoke & Kelly both can recruit well, too -- this will only make Meyer's recruiting much more difficult. It's just the reality of the situation.

Does this mean Meyer won't pull a recruit from the South, no? Does this mean Meyer won't get good recruits in the North, no? Does this mean Meyer won't win with his recruits, no? What it does mean is Meyer is going to have his work cutout for him.
