I like most, won't believe it until I see it. However, I'll admit thay before this thread, I had no true belief that we'd land him (late deciding OOS 5* players usually go elsewhere).

If he can play up to his potential in college (a big IF, I hate expecting a KID is the next best thing), he has the type of potential that can elevate a defense to great things!!!

Isn't he from GA???? Did you mean Bama/Georgia?

Stop trolling. You arent even an ohio state fan. Bell is not small and is anything but soft. His best attributes are that he is a big, nasty hitter and he is 6'1". Kurt coleman was only 5'10" and christian bryant is 5'9".

I have had the same wish list as you Beast. Sounds like we may be one step closer. Really thought all along Quick would be the toughest to land. I have believed from the beginning that Bell was leaning Buckeyes. Hope to get Bell and Mitchell to jump on board soon, then we can focus on Quick. Hope to get Gibson in this class too.

RE: vonn bell

with bell visiting in january, alabama db coach leaving, and meyer persuing this kid being at his state championship game and reports of saban not being there...i fully expect him to choose ohio state come signing day. he would be a huge addition in our secondary and a nasty big hitter we've been missing.

I hate you retards that want to call any one that doesn't say anything but how great everything tOSU touches is gold a troll. Did you watch Bell's game? I did. This kid is clearly a a big talent. He literally played every down except for the one missed FG and one when his helmet came off during a play. I'll admit that I don't do a lot hot HS scouting, but i thought that he was hesitant at times when it came to attacking the ball on defense. He got flat out run over to give up the first TD of the game and tried to make tackles on his heels. That being said, he was involved in seemingly every play on the field, I would be curious to see if he would improve if he ONLY played defense. I'm not here to knock this kid and I do believe that he has the strength and speed to be fantastic, but he is going to take some coaching in order for him to find success at the next level. I hope he joins the good guys!

Actually stoptothink really isnt an ohio state fan. He has made that known on multiple occasions. We have posters from multiple fan bases, several with over 2000+ posts.

Doesn't change anything...Saban has adjusted his oversigning strategy from cutting guys after one year to cutting them before signing day if a better player wants to commit (see last year). So, if Mr. Bell wants to go to 'Bama Mr. Cook will be SOL. The spirit of amateurism and the student-athlete is alive and well in CFB. mob.gif

Let me start by saying that I personally don't care to see anyone making personal attacks no matter who the poster is a fan of. If somebody else starts it, then their fair game. Second, don't be so thin skinned, any a-hole can say just about anything. Let them say what they wish. Why would you let somebodies words be so powerful in your mind. I don't know of any other board where you are as free to post just about anything. You never get banned from this site, unless you go way over the line. I like that personally. Try that on any other board, especially those teams in the south. If you don't post sweet nothings about bama, you can't post there. I do believe that if you go on another teams site, you need to be somewhat respectful, even if you have a disagreement. Although you can be respectful, without being a suck up. Don't go throwing around retard, and then complain about being called a troll.

As for Bell, he is ranked high, and Meyer is recruiting him for a reason. Hard hitter, that I think will be an asset for any major program. I still believe he will be a Buckeye, and will play a major role on the defense in the near future.

though I am sure you are an expert on bama recruiting, Cook is a corner, not a safety. It's not an either or.

Bell visits TOSU 1/11/2013
               Bama 1/18/2013
               Tenn  1/25/2013

Word last week was he was close to a decision. Most thought he would announce after his GA State title game. Now it seems we are 1 of 3. 33% chance is better than none. Hopefully Urban has made an indelible impression and in the end that will be the deciding factor.
Attention: We are now boarding Champions.

Maybe, but he does make a valid point when it comes to oversigning and cutting/medical hardship/ or what you guys now call roster management.

I realize reading is not your strength, what with the historic lack of emphasis on education in the South, so here's a snippet from his Scout.com profile:
"There is not much Bell does not do well in the secondary. He is still a little light for a safety that loves to deliver big hits, but he does most things very well. He makes plays, he has exceptional hands, he closes on the ball well, and he has shown great bursts out of his breaks. He could get a look at corner too because of his feet and quickness. He is an all around athlete with big-play ability. - Chad Simmons"

And in case you've forgotten the URL, see: Nick Saban's Big Board for National Signing Day (Where 30 + 29 + 28 + 32 = 85)

Coach Meyer getting a OV this late, i'd be scared of not even getting a visit if I was Bama or Tenn.

Re: vonn bell

You are right...I shouldn't have resorted to the retard comment. I wasn't the one being called a troll though. My comment was because someone else was being called a troll even though they brought up what I thought was a legitimate point. I am certainly not here to get into personal battles with people over differences of opinion. I do have a hard time with some of the folks here that bent out of shape because someone, who may very well be a Buckeye fan, says something critical about a recruit or Urban or whatever. So, my apologies for the retard comment.

I do believe that Bell will be a good recruit, but I will stick to my comment that he will require a good amount of coaching before he will be a major impact at the elite college level.
