Re: Why no love for Lovell Peterson???
Not sure, but the fact that he's only gotten two offers (looking on Rivals --- one from WV and one from Ohio) something must just not be right there.
EDIT: Looks like he might have some academic issues.

Re: Why no love for Lovell Peterson???
Wasn't he injured most of last year or part of this year?

Re: Why no love for Lovell Peterson???
Given that Donovan Munger stands a very good chance of being a part of the 13' class, Peterson is A-not needed, and B-based on his offer sheet-I thought he had an Illinois offer as well(along w/ 1/2 of all the kids in the GWOC), doesn't look like a tOSU level prospect-the staff is very aware of him, I am sure, and would have shown some sort of interest by now, even if they ultimately decided not to offer-like Kyle Meadows from Lakota.

Wasn't he sick and lost a good amount of weight ? I thought he had an offer from Illinois as well ? Seems to me he was not offered because he's a guard / center... ryecatcher773 wrote: Not sure, but the fact that he's only gotten two offers (looking on Rivals --- one from WV and one from Ohio) something must just not be right there.

I'll trust Mark Richt over some star hander outer.

RE: Why no love for Lovell Peterson???
A big part of O line projection (he projects best as a center I thought) Is Arm length, his height of 6'3", means he would do best at Center as his arm length measurable's aren't there. Now as far as 2nd best Ohio DT, Urban has a lot of high quality D-lineman in the pipe. There are only 2 four star centers, one being khaliel Rodgers (whome we struck out on), Peterson is 6th overall at center, but I'm not sure about how important it is to use a scholly in this short class on a center.

Agreed - those might not be his true measurables but the kid's a player even if he wasn't able to close out his senior season the way he wanted to. Not sure what the staff sees/doesn't see that's making them pass...think he'll be good wherever he goes.

Re: Why no love for Lovell Peterson???
Dont get where he is the #2 DT in Ohio. He is a 3* center while Munger is a 4* DT.

Re: Why no love for Lovell Peterson???
I wouldn't be surprised if he has some grade issues as well. He doesn't have many offers so something is definitely up.

Re: Why no love for Lovell Peterson???
Jacoby Boren, Pat Elflein, and Joey O'Connor, are all capable of playing center here. Plus we have Corey Linsley for one more year.
LeCharles Bentley, Doug Datish and Corey Linsley were former OG or OT here, that ended up moving to Center. We don't have to recruit "Center" specific linemen out of high school. We did that with Brian Bobek, and look how that worked out. It was a fail (but we got that ship back).

Re: Why no love for Lovell Peterson???
I thought I had heard grade issues. But it is odd, 2 years ago he was talked about as a top 5 guy in Ohio his class, and a sure fire buckeye.

Re: Why no love for Lovell Peterson???
As was Jim Cordle, although he probably made his biggest contribution with his flexibility when injuries hit in 2008. I think he played everywhere on the line that season but left tackle. srslydood wrote: ForeignBockeye wrote: Jacoby Boren, Pat Elflein, and Joey O'Connor, are all capable of playing center here.
