Max Redfield may have OSU #1

Max Redfield may have OSU #1

Redfield has spoken with Tom Herman and Ed Warinner, but to this point the Buckeyes have not offered a scholarship nor asked him to make an official visit. But interestingly, in addition to saying he would like to make an official visit to Ohio State, Redfield adds that, “If I had to pick a favorite it would probably be Ohio State.”

LINK

Just a link to his profile cause I had no idea who he was. That's quite interesting, but at this time it doesn't really mean much until he gets an offer and visits.

Curious to know where this quotes came from because that would certainly be news to Notre Dame and Oregon, who everybody seems to believe are the prohibitive favorites. He might be the best safety in the nation not named Sua Cravens and the top FS prospect overall, but the kid wants to play WR according to a few USC commits and another person who is very close to the situation.

So the kid wants to be the next Marquise Lee and is looking to make the same transition Lee had. Can't Blame him just hope he chooses the Bucks and lets Urb handle his position situation.

ar 6'3" 200, I wonder why they have him as just a safety? he has good height for a wideout, then again he looks like he could be a special safety, he dominated in that film, nice vert as well.

That's interesting as he has told Sapp that ND is his favorite and Jake Brown from ND Rivals said the same thing today.

I am not sure the staff believe his interest is real. Clearly he is having second thoughts about going to USC and playing against Cravens for starting time. I think he stays out west althought he would be a very nice back up if the Bell doesn't ring for Ohio State.

I think he plays offense if he comes here.

His tape is very impressive, looks like he plays with lots of heart as well.  Get that kid on a visit and get him a schollie!

I believe part of the reason he hasn't mentioned OSU in his "top whatever" is because we haven't OFFERED him yet. Therefore, if/when we offer him we should be in his "top whatever" and get a visit.

I say offer him ASAP and take whichever one of Bell or Redfield commits first.

Re: Max Redfield may have OSU #1

Him and Cravens play two completely different positions, Cravens being an obvious SS(or possible even OLB) while Redfield may be the best FS prospect in the country. They are also very good friends, with that friendship being a primary reason he committed to USC in the first place. Greg Biggins just tweeted that Redfield cancelled his visit to Oregon and will instead be visiting USC for about the 20th time. This one is down to ND and USC. I think USC is warming up to the possibility of allowing him to try WR.

This kid is the real deal. His ball skills are off the charts and he's tough. I think he plays like a Buckeye and would be a damn good fit for our team. I hope he gets an offer and makes an OV. Urban will do the rest!

First thing that popped in my head watching this was he's a more physical Eugene Clifford.

I think the chances are low that he goes anywhere other than USC or ND, but I see no harm in extending an offer and seeing if he'll come for a visit.   He might surprise everyone and join Urban's juggernaut.

Re: Max Redfield may have OSU #1

When he said OSU if he had to pick a favorite, he was referring to if he had to add another team to the mix.  This has been an ND/Oregon battle with USC still in this.  This week Oregon told him not to visit because they feel he's going to ND.  It's quite odd, because Oregon has been the main team ND has been battling to get him.

He's visiting USC this weekend, so we should know more after his visit.  He said yesterday that ND is his leader, with USC still there.  Said if he had to name a couple extra schools they would be Washington and Ohio St who is "sort of on the outside looking in" according to Redfield.

It's a premium story on Rivals, but his synopsis is accurate.
