Re: James Quick
Just read this morning that Quick's Trinity HS QB (a 2014 recruit) is set to commit to UL very soon. Things just seem to be trending in that direction for Quick. It would be nice to get him in this class, but im starting to get pessimistic about that happening.

RE: James Quick
I think the longer it goes the better for us. It is easy just to pick the local school. He is really thinking about his decision.

From what I understand, he is and always was announcing at the All-American game on Jan 5. He could be wavering, but thats not the reason why he hasnt announced yet.

It wasn't a lack of WRs as much as it was a lack of planning. Tressel showed the first signs of being out-coached in that game.

Just because we're in the era of the spread, and Meyer runs a different offense than Tress, have you forgotten this is RB 'U' we're talking about?
BrightonBuck wrote: Looking more and more like the recruitment of Quick is playing out like Stefon Diggs. Comes down to a final 2 of OSU and the mid-level home town program. In the end the smell of home cooking is just too strong. Just wish it didn't have to be another elite WR. Uh yes, we need elite receivers who can make YAC. That is what this offense is about. Do I have to remind you of Florida 06? OSU's defensive plan made that offense more so than anything. Our best DT playing end, our best pass rushing DE dropping back in coverage, rushing only 3 guys, dropping the LB's 15 yards off the LOS. They didn't go vertical that often, all they had to do is throw a 3 yard out and they were pretty much guaranteed to pick up 10 yards.
Arguing that a proposition is true because belief in it has good consequences, or that it is false because belief in it has bad consequences is often an irrelevancy.

Always thought Quick was destined for Louisville. I think he liked the idea of OSU, better chance to be a star there though.

Playing for a potential NC team or a high school teammate? Don't think it will affect his decision too much. That "bad Louisville team" is playing in the Sugar Bowl in about two weeks. I understand OSU has a much better tradition and Urban is one of the best coaches in the game but don't be one of those guys who acts like a recruit is doomed if he doesn't pick your school. Quick is the real deal and will likely be an impact player at the next level, whether he chooses OSU or Louisville. Maker84 wrote:

If Louisville still leads and already visited here then it's game over for him, gotta get Shelton Gibson. Hope Quick enjoys playing on a bad Louisville team every season

Re: James Quick
pupus, I agree with your post. However, don't be so shocked that there are posters on an Ohio State board that believe he would be better off here. I am sure that is true for the boards of all the big time programs recruiting James. Quick will do fine no matter which school he chooses. The pro scouts find the best talent no matter where it is hiding. But I am sure you'll agree he will be much easier to "find" if he plays for a program like Ohio State than if he toils at a school like Louisville. Just saying... pupus wrote: That "bad Louisville team" is playing in the Sugar Bowl in about two weeks. The "bad loiusville" team is benefitting from being in a TERRiBLE conference and getting an automatic bcs id for winning it... Put them in any other conference this year besides the acc, and they are lucky to go 6-6 --------------------------------------------- --- pupus wrote: That "bad Louisville team" is playing in the Sugar Bowl in about two weeks. Re: James Quick
OSU is WR"U"...Corey Brown, Devin Smith, Evan Spencer, and Michael Thomas will all be drafted. OSU was undefeated in Meyers 1st year. OSU will win multiple NC's with Meyer. Hopefull he stays another 15 years. Charlie Strong will not be at Louisville when Quick graduates...Meyer will be at OSU. END OF DISCUSSION!! pupus wrote:That "bad Louisville team" is playing in the Sugar Bowl in about two weeks. Devin Smith-6-7th as of now. If he proves he can catch in the next 2 years he could go 2nd or 3rd.
Evan Spencer-Undrafted until he proves he can be a threat. Something you wouldn't know unless you watch it closely is Evan was on the field 75% of the time and never made an impact.
Michael Thomas-Maybe. I know he is a freshman and played a lot but he didnt make 1 play all season....but like I said he is just a freshman and he played a lot (Due to lack of depth)

Re: James Quick
Louisville has too many close wins in a bad conference for me to believe its a legitimate BCS team. About as good as UConn was........

How in the world would you draft Devin Smith over him. Devin does not adjust to the ball in flight very well. Whats funny is both of them are great Special Team players.
