Re: James Quick
Don't you just love when a team wins one game and acts like that erases all of its previous failures. Sure UL, good win against Florida. But please don't even try to compare football success with OSU. Not even close.
Some of these UL fans remind me of Michigan fans last year. "We lost to you 6 years in a row but we won the last one!"
Give me a break.

This one is not over. With Tressel, yes sure. But this is Meyer and he is like Saban not gona stop pestering a recruit with Tosu interest till signing day. This is far far from done.

We recruit like an sec team right now and that means non stop trying to get back with a recruit till signing day.Get used to it in Meyer's tenure here, which I hope is 20+ years.

If I was a Louisville fan I would be nervous. They have 1, 4 star and that's Quick,so if they lose him they lose their only impact player. Then when Teddy leaves, that team goes back to sucking.

I think it's refreshing to see a hometown kid stick with a school like UofL when he had offers from the big boys of college football. I hope he does well there.

Good luck to Mr. Quick at Louisville.
For UL fans to take shots at OSU's past and continued excellence in football, however, is ludicrous.

Re: James Quick
If you want to know why Louisville fans are over here today, you should have been on the Louisville boards this past week when many OSU fans were posting how Quick is a "done deal" for OSU and Louisville isn't worthy. Those were the nice post ;-) I have some pretty strong ties to Trinity HS and some of the things I read this past week from OSU posters just made me shake my head. In the for what it is worth category, Quick never mislead the OSU coaches. He was always 100% honest with them and told the OSU staff Louisville was his leader but he was torn by what OSU had to offer.
I have seen James Quick in state track meets, on the basketball court, and playing over a dozen times on the football field. He has always worn UL t-shirts or gym shorts. He has also attended most Louisville home football games over the past 2 years. We (Louisville) would not have received a commitment today from Quick if he was from Indiana, TN, or Ohio. Most Louisville fans realize that. However he grew up a Louisville fan and his father once played for Louisville. He has a 3 year relationship with Charlie Strong and that was very important to his family. Things worked out for us and we are very excited.
OSU is an excellent football program (top 5 program). I have relatives in Dublin, so I have indoctrinated into the OSU game day culture. Players like Quick are recruited by OSU every year. OSU will be fine w/o James Quick. Louisville fans are tickled to have kept a home town kid with the local school.
Good luck to OSU. It appears you received a commitment today from a fine LB that was also playing in today's Army game.

I for one can't figure out the ones that are pissed.....we (Ohio State) fans should realize what it means to get an offer to play for the "home" school....most Ohio State kids growing up would relish that...why should it be any different for Quick and Louisville? I really wish he would've come to Ohio State, but he wanted to stay home, I wish him the best of luck......I'm done with the thread, Ohio State will be fine in the end.

Re: James Quick
I am a Cards fan and have been my entire for life to see Louisville fans compare us to OSU is obsurd we are nowhere near their level at this point. Quick was a huge recruit for the Ville without a doubt its always great to see a kid stay close to home and live out whats most likely their lifelong dream growing up dreaming of playing for their favorite team. I know quite a few OSU fans and they all seem to be great people whom I enjoy talking college sports with. There are bad eggs on both sides and those are the ones who make the rude and uncalled for posts. OSU has a great college football tradition and I would be an idiot to say I wouldnt want to see Louisville to get to their level on the GridIron maybe one day we will things sure look like they are on the way up for us. Good Luck to the Buckeyes and I am sure they will find another guy that really wants to be a buckeye

RE: James Quick
Have you even looked at our recruit list? We have 2 4 star commits not including Quick in our current small class (we ony have 16 open scholarships this year) iand we have several others to fill with several others on reportedly coming. One of those is another highly recruited 4* QB expected to take over for TB.....
To the rest here, most here seem very nice and have good attitudes about the whoe thing. Congrats on the great recruits you landed today. Get your AD to schedule a game and we can let Strong face off against one of his mentors. --------------------------------------------- --- experto40 wrote:

You're quoting a notorious Michigan troll. The staff doesn't ban these trolls so they can drive people to the premium, pay board. --------------------------------------------- --- LouisvilleMD wrote:

The warm breeze of September optimism in Ann Arbor, is once again replaced with the cool October wind of reality.

Would love to have Quick in Columbus but he chose his hometown after everything. Never will discredit a kid for choosing to stay at home and find it disturbing that some criticize him for it. Good luck James and thanks for considering OSU.

RE: James Quick
Quick question.
If you always wanted to go to Loserville, then why did he string along Urban and our staff for so long. Just commit and get it over with.
For that reason, I'm calling him out as a jerk.
