Evan Spencer-Undrafted until he proves he can be a threat. Something you wouldn't know unless you watch it closely is Evan was on the field 75% of the time and never made an impact.
Michael Thomas-Maybe. I know he is a freshman and played a lot but he didnt make 1 play all season....but like I said he is just a freshman and he played a lot (Due to lack of depth) Corey Brown is by far best reciever on team. How in the world would you draft Devin Smith over him. Devin does not adjust to the ball in flight very well. Whats funny is both of them are great Special Team players. I agree that Philly is the best WR on the team, but thats not how the NFL works. Devin will test much better than Philly at the combine and has homerun potential.

Re: James Quick
Do not forget Jordan Hall. Meyer loved his spring camp, and that foot injury June was a big set back. He was doing a lot of that second RB, slot RB and slot RB that moves to WR or catches the ball in motion. Jordan Hall in that roll allows Brown to be a lot more full time WR. That kid with a ton of potential that can be elite if he comes to play every game and most downs is Devin Smith, you saw flashes of brilliance, he needs to put it altogether. Jordan Hall coming back gives OSU a lot of flexibility, he was huge early at MSU, and had a big game against Cal, then not long there after go hurt again. BuckeyeDaJuiceMan wrote:

Re: James Quick
Here are some more live updates from Ozone Recruiting Analyst Michael Chung:
* Mike Mitchell has been hanging with Buckeye commits. Would be shocked if he did not commit to Ohio State. * James Quick has not been hanging with Ohio State recruits. A source here in San Antonio believes he stays close to home. * News on James Quick has been mixed but it looks like he stays UL according to source here in San Antonio. * Sounds like a lot of conflicting news on Quick. I will try to interview him after practice

Re: James Quick
we have 1 reporter saying Quick to L'ville, but all of his friends, former HS teammates, and all other reporters are saying Ohio State. Quick also just named Ohio State the leader in an interview within 1 week of making his decision. Let's see. I wonder what school Quick will choose on January 6?
2014 recruiting wish list 1. Kyle Allen 2. Jamarco Jones 3. Raekwon McMillan

Louisville is really taking it to Florida right now 17-3. I would rather it be the other way around. Don't want anyone to think the future in Louisville is bright.

Where in the world did Louisville come from. They are destroying Florida. I do not recall Louisville being a top twenty recruiting school over the last few years. I was suprised Quick was considering them but now I understand.

I didn't know he said he already made a decision, I just read all of the rumors about both schools. Obviously a Sugar Bowl win isn't what recruits are waiting to see as their final deciding factor. Watching Louisville against Florida you would think that they were a national title contender. Instead, they are a team that lost two games in the Big East.

Never felt like Quick would commit. I finally have the feeling that we are at least tied if not in lead for his LOA :) I also have great reason to think Trey Johnson is all buckeye as well.

Re: James Quick
Louisville did what it had to do to lock up Quick. Charlie Strong is signed long-term. They destroyed Florida. Teddy Ballgame Bridgewater is back next year as a top level Heisman candidate. And Louisville just won a BCS game and against the SEC. The dominoes just went their way in getting Quick over us.
Urban will find some other fish out there, but it would have been nice if the dominoes went the other way, and then Quick could have maybe been a Buckeye.

Re: James Quick
To be fair, it's kinda hard to judge how good our WRs are given that Braxton isn't making the reads and adjusting quick enough (so he runs with the ball) and when he is throwing, his accuracy is leaving something to be desired. Devin Smith and Corey Brown have both been playmaking WRs when they get the ball... Smith has great hands and is clutch when he needs to be (anyone remember the Wiscy game in Columbus last year? And that was basically an improvised play). Our WRs should be graded as an incomplete -- when your team is 105th in CFB in passing yards, and 10th in rushing... and the QB is the leading rusher while you have a corral full of RBs (led by the raging bull that is Carlos Hyde), it should tell you something. I love Braxton (has heart, leadership, athleticism like very few others) and I absolutely prefer him over TP, but he has to work on the passing side of being a QB. Someone ought to look into getting Troy Smith back to C-Bus as an assistant. Herman is a quality OC, but there's things Smith might be able to teach Miller that might resonate better. Whatever it takes to get this kid to realize his full potential. cradleoffootball wrote: I have to agree, there is talent but no bonafide stars at the WR position. Re: James Quick
Owning the single season total offense record at Ohio State in his sophomore year means Braxton is coming along just fine imo.
