James Quick
Time to move on from this kid....Still has Papa Johns stadium ahead of Ohio State after visiting this weekend. Are you kidding me? Some kids just don't get it. How's that Maryland thing working out for Stephen Riggs?

RE: James Quick
Interesting. Not all kids want to come to The Ohio State University. Some want to attend school closer to home, some are *gasp* fans of other schools.

Kid is from that area. Not hard to understand he wants to give the ville every chance he can. ramatam wrote: Time to move on from this kid....Still has Papa Johns stadium ahead of Ohio State after visiting this weekend. We will see what happens if Strong takes the Arky or Auburn job. 87falcon44 wrote: Kid is from that area. Not hard to understand he wants to give the ville every chance he can.

How's that Maryland thing working out for Stephen Riggs? It's Diggs. For the record, it's Gibson and North that I wanted all along. If we get them, outstanding. But if we don't, we'll still be solid with what we have and what is already coming in 2012. With Quick, I don't really want to be too hard on the guy, but if an 18-year old kid (er, man) who plays the game at a high level, has to dwell this long on whether to choose between playing football in Columbus or a basketball school, I'm not sure he's the kind of kid I want in the first place. Nothing against a kid hesitant to leave home, but after the Ricquan Southward thing, I'd rather have someone who is confident in his decision and wants to play in a premiere program. If it was between tOSU and an SEC powerhouse, I could see the difficult decision... but Louisville is not a major program in football and Columbus is a mere 3-and-a-half hour drive away. We're not talking about a plane ride if he's homesick. My kid brother went to IU and managed to drive to Chicago every other weekend in his beat up Chevy Cavalier no sweat (and that's a longer drive).

Re: James Quick
why don't you just let it play out before you attempt to bash the kid?

Re: James Quick
Interesting I was thinking same thing. He just witnessed a super great game experience that no way could ever be matched by Louisville. Yet he list OSU second, I agree time to move on. OSU has so much to offer, I mean one if not the best coach and staff and a great team, school, etc.

Re: James Quick
People really need to stop bashing 18 year old kids for trying to make the right decision that will affect him the next 4 years. I would much rather have someone go about it the way James Quick and Mike Mitchell are then someone like Robert Nkemdiche or Reuben Foster did. I believe Quick will commit to Ohio State in the end. He stated that he thought about committing this weekend but wants to take another visit to UL and maybe one to Oregon just to make sure. But seriously, give him time to make his decision, but not everyone grew up die hard Buckeye fans.

Re: James Quick
I think his dad, who is very involved with James' recruiting and was with him on the visit, will recognize how much better the prep for the NFL and the academics are at OSU. Let them go through the whole process and visits and make a decision - they will say Louisville leads all the way up to the final decision to alleviate the home-town hate until the end.

Re: James Quick
If he wants to stay close to home, why go to Oregon? If he does go out there, I think our chances get better because he wants to play for a wide open offense and OSU is closer to home than is Oregon.

Re: James Quick
Quick is taking his time. I think he wants to see what happens to Strong. He has been tomOSU three times and like OSU a lot. No need to be negative on this kid. Strong leaves then I think we get him. If strong stays then I think we are still in the fight. I respect Quick a lot. He has been upfront and is not playing games so let's hope he come to OSU and if he doesn't then wish him well in his career.

Re: James Quick
Really no surprise here and not sure why some think he doesn't get it. Kid has had a great relationship with Strong for a long time. Louisville has always been the team to beat.

Re: James Quick
Move on to the next WR recruit. It's just that simple.
The best Buckeyes are the ones that want to be Buckeyes. Forcing someone against their own will is not the answer.

RE: James Quick
i am amazed how in the dark some posters on here are...if you really think quick is favoring louisville..then you are lost.... don't pay attention to what he is saying to these websites.....quick is FAR closer to being a buckeye than he is to being a Cardinal

We'll see about that. I dont know why quick would lie about who his favorite is at this point. Sucks that Louisville is still the favorite but if he goes there let him rot on a pathetic team like Stephon Diggs is currently doing
