It's still early enough for 2014 to unfold but Booker, Lattimore, Berger and Byrne are all on there.
Not sure if it's a down year in Ohio, or if we're just so used to Tressel's emphasis on in-state while Meyer looks more at a national scope, while offering only the best recruits that fit his plans regardless of where they come from.

I never do on Coach Kyle's kids... wayyyy too many of them go elsewhere to play college ball. Penguin2 wrote: Don't hold your breath on Byrne.

If there is such a thing, its a good year to have a "down" year with projected small class in 2014. I count 14 seniors next year. So you can probably add another 3-6 players not being around so at best it will be a class of 20 people.

I've been biting my tongue about this "Ohio is down in 2014" talk. It seems that their may not be as much "OSU type talent" in 2014 as in most years, but it's not like some fans are portraying.
EXAMPLE: On a different theard it was stated that only 3 kids in Ohio have OSU talent. Does Kyle Berger, who now has an offer from OSU make the list? He wasn't even mentioned prior to his recent offer. It's STILL early, more guys will emerge. Conley wasn't a high priority at all at this time last season, he is now. Right now Marshon Lattimore is easily the #1 player in Ohio for 2014. Where was Lattimore on your wish list 3 months ago? Answer: He wasn't!

Good point. I just took a quick look at Scouts top 200 list. So far 11 kids from Ohio is in the 2014 list. This compares to 10 in 2013. At the end of the day, there might be preception of a down year since fewer Ohio kids are not get offers (or at least early) because Meyer appears to be recruiting more nationally. You'd rank him ahead of Dante Booker? Not saying I don't high hopes for both to come to C-Bus, just asking if you've considered the weight of your statement. You're saying he's 'easily' the best player is putting a pretty big margin between him and some other highly sought guys. I didn't mean to say that I think ANY player is "easily the #1 player in Ohio for 2014". Sorry if it was taken that way. I should have said that based upon the current rankings by credible sources (scout, rivals, etc..) he is the #1 player in Ohio for 2014. I think there are a lot of good players that are all still developing their skills and still physically maturing.

Doesn't matter how the talent is in Ohio. Tressel recruits the best from all over the nation. It looks like 2014 will be a top three national class.

Yeah Lattimore is easily ahead of Booker. Lattimore is as explosive and elusive as Ginn with better hands --------------------------------------------- --- ryecatcher773 wrote: You'd rank him ahead of Dante Booker?
