Very good point. Anyone can correct me if I have anything below wrong.
According to the source I found, December 16 is a quiet period and December 17 to January 3 is a dead period meaning no contacts or evaluations on or off campus and coaches aren't allowed to make phone calls to recruits. The coaches are also apparently not allowed to visit or call juniors at all.
This apparently means all contact with juniors will have to be via letter or email or the junior will have to call the coach.
This also apparently means the staff will only have until December 16 to visit and call seniors before most other coaches start to free up in early January, which they can apparently do once per week up to a maximum of six times until signing day per recruit. I'm sure they won't want to use up all their permissible visits to remaining recruits during December and will save some for January/early February. I think the coaches may also be able to go no additional visits to the recruits' schools without visiting the recruit himself, called evaluations, but I'm not entirely sure.
I guess not going to a bowl game is not as big of a recruiting advantage as I was hoping it would be. I guess we'll just have to subsist on using Urban Meyer going 12 and 0 in his first year here to our recruiting advantage.
