We need to go after Reuben Foster,Dee Liner,Carl Lawson
All Auburn recruits and friends with Trey Johnson.With Chizek a goner lets get on them and recruit those studs.

That is a hell of a defensive foundation for years to come.Those 3 are usually Bama recruits but they didnt want them.Now auburn is losing a coach,perfect for Meyer to close out with them.

Yes, let's get the NCAA really interested in sniffing around our program again, that's a brilliant idea. I wouldn't touch an Auburn commit w/ a 10 foot pole. There's a certain kind of reassuring white rock....and some people do well with that.....

Not sure Foster would be able to configure his giant "AU" tattoo into an OSU. He may have to switch to Florida Atlantic.

trey is a great kid and a good football player.
he plays in one of the toughest regions in america in gwinnett co.
first met him at one of the scout combines and got to talk to him again for about 10-15 minutes at dawg nite this year.
if he ends up at ohio state he will be a kid you wont have to worry about off the field problems.

Foster is solid AU and DLiner will be either AU or UA, his coach is pushing him hard to go to UA as well as some others in the community but he's been an AU fan since a kid. Haven't heard much about Lawson but last I'd heard he was waiting to see what the new AU staff shapes up to be, would be hard to pull him unless AU screws the hire. It wouldn't shock me if Meyer targetted them heavily, anything Meyer can do to mess with AU he will do. Interesting...any particular reason why other than the fact he had to interact w/ Auburn as a fellow SEC member-which is quite enough in and of itself.....

he actually struggled against the entire sec west--he was 11-10 overall against west teams at florida--and he takes things very personal.
he dominated the east 27-3.
he REALLY stressed "rivalry" games and always pushed his teams that the sec east and fsu were the games to zero in on.
against bama, auburn, lsu and ole miss he was only 6-9.
tuberville and saban are both pretty smart assed when the cameras arent on also and tubs loved reminding him at coaching things and media days about it.
after florida beat ohio state in 2006 tubs made the comment about ohio state would have been the 5th or 6th best team in the sec and meyer never forgave him for that because he thought it stole some of his thunder beating them.
as soon as saban saw how fragile meyer is emotionally he zeroed in and was actually borderline hateful to him.

Meyer never beat Auburn even in 2006 and in 2007 when Auburn was not given a chance in the swamp they beat UF under Meyer. meyer struggled against a typical strong defense with linemen that can disrupt plays. Meyer has taken many many shots at Auburn in the media. Mullen made it a point this year that Auburn was his superbowl at MSu because he's never beaten Auburn as an assistant or HC. A lot of the camgate stuff initially came from Mullen and Meyer. The guy that Newton was sitting behind at Florida was a pretty special college player as well. Tubs had a way with some coaches and really getting under their skin. Meyer was one of them, it burns him to this day.
