You missed my point entirely... but unwittingly said exactly what I was trying to say: for the amount of success they've had in D-1, it
isn't a factory in comparison to other schools (like Joe's was for a shorter period of time in the grand scheme of things).
I'm not knocking the school or the program - I grew up in the Cleveland area, watching them dominate D-1 OHSAA football back in the late 80s and early 90s and have nothing but the utmost respect for Coach Kyle and his kids... and it's not a good academic school, it's a
great acdemic school.
But my point was, if you look at the number of D-1 State Titles Iggie's has, and look at the number of kids they've had go on to play in the NFL over the years when compared to what Joe's, Glenville, Harding have done over shorter stretches of time... and minus the state titles, well it's not the ratio you'd expect. Yes, there are kids from Iggie's who play in the NFL and will in the future. But alll things considered, it's less than what you'd expect from comparably successful (i.e. dominant) programs in other big football states (e.g. De La Salle HS in California).

There'll be 2 Ignatius guys on the rosters for The Game. No, it's not a factory, but considering that it's a good academic school, they do pretty well.
I'm surprised that O'Brien hasn't offered McVey to PSU. He could turn him into a Danny Woodhead type.

Kid might be a great HS baller, but c'mon man. He doesn't have the physical tools to play major D-1 football at RB. He's going to Buffalo for a reason.
St. Ignatius reminds me of a Permian HS of Catholic school programs. Lots of heart, great tradition (and, unlike Permian a list of trophies that few can contend with), but limited chances for their players to have success at the next level.
11 OHSAA D-1 titles since my junior year @ Brush and proportionately speaking, their alumni don't have nearly as much to show for it as a school like (for example) Harding does, and considering the disparity in selectivity and whatnot, that says a lot.
