Did Ohio State show any interest in Tim McVey? He had a heck of a game as well on both sides of the ball (240+ yds rushing, 4TDs?)

McVey is probably one of the best players in Ignatius history, but he's 5'9 185 so he didn't get a whole lot of interest as far as I am aware. Trubisky is an amazing player, if you swapped QBs, Ignatius would've won in a blowout. Trubisky just carried his team all the way. #1 for Mentor is a great target.
Trubisky finished with 411 yards and 2 TDs and 138 yards rushing and 4 TDs.

BTW I didn't really think it was that much of a gutsy call to go for 2. Ignatius had scored TDs on their last 2 plays in OT and you have Mr. Ohio in waiting with a chance to end the game. They could still be playing if someone didn't go for 2.

Performances like this are what college coaches used to wait to see before making an offer, but with the way the recruiting schedule has sped up, sometimes you're gonna miss out on guys like this. Combine kings and short pants camp stars get the early offers, and a kid like Trubisky --who can flat out ball-- has to wait. Well, Trubisky didn't feel like waiting, but you got to wonder what Urban will be thinking when he hears about this game.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Trubisky should have been the 2nd QB in this class and was a big miss! Urban is going to regret not putting the full press on this kid.
2014 recruiting wish list 1. Kyle Allen 2. Jamarco Jones 3. Raekwon McMillan

Last week's game vs St Ed was no slouch either ! In Q3...Mentor trailed 56-35 and subsequently scored 4 cons. TDs winning 63-56 ! Trubisky has game and has literally carried Mentor on his back ! BTW...did Trubisky have the type of offer (commitable?) where if he accepts he's a Buckeye ? RipAndRattle wrote: Didnt get to watch it all but sounded like one of the best HS football games ever!

If Urban put the full press on Trubisky, he would NO DOUBT be a Buckeye. He played games with Trubisky and got burnt. It happens in recruiting.

Urban didn't get burnt, Trubisky still doesn't have an offer he could accept.

I hate to say that Mentor QBs are system successes, but there is some history there. Jacquemain, Tanski and now Trubisky -- all very successful in Trivissono's offense. Neither of the other two amounted to anything at the major college level. It was unfortunate what happened to Jacquemain. I'm not saying Trubisky will be the same player, but there is some history there to suggest it might just be a Mentor thing.

Trubisky and Mentor have been amazing the past 2 weeks. With that being said, you really can't argue with the track record of Urban Meyer's recruiting.
55 years of watching Browns football - 31 of them from the front row of the Pound.

--------------------------------------------- IIRC he had issues with prescription drugs....and that either directly or indirectly lead to his death.
