Q&A - QB William Ulmer (Washington, DC)
Confident, if nothing else: " I just sent them my mid-season highlight tape. The whole staff is going to watch it, then from there the offer is going to come."

RE: Q&A - QB William Ulmer (Washington, DC)
He probably only runs a 4.6. But its not surprise an idiot like ripandrattle thinks a 16 year old kid will run a sub 4.4. --------------------------------------------- --- RipAndRattle wrote: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5igXfT...be_gdata_playerJunior film Amazing athlete (vid says 4.38 40, 39 inch verticle), looks like Braxton running the ball. ---------------------------------------------

Looks like a great runner. Great speed and moves very similar to Miller. Not sold on his passing though, don't think he can throw it around at OSU level. As an athlete he may be worth an offer, as a QB I dont know.

RE: Q&A - QB William Ulmer (Washington, DC)
Dont see anyway he's a QB at an Ohio State level. He's very Denard Robinson like, Fast but the farthest throw i saw went 30-35 yards, and he shotputs his deeper passes, his mechanics are also really really bad he seems to throw some passes side armed. I also doubt he runs a 4.39 with a 39 inch vertical, you mean to tell me his measurables are equal to RGIII at 16 years old? Impossible. I see Athlete WR/DB in his future if he picks ohio state. I still think Barkers getting the first QB offer for 2014 and i think Meyer is going to really try to get Watson from Georgia.

Re: Q&A - QB William Ulmer (Washington, DC)
I don't understand why the staff likes this kid more so than Barker, and even William Crest. Both Barker and Crest have strong arms and both are mobile and can run. All this Ulmer kid can do is run. That certainly won't attract any WR recruits down the road.
My top 3 is Watson, Barker and Crest. In my opinion the ideal QB would be like Troy Smith back in 2006-2007 when he would pass for 300 yds and rush for 70-80 yds per game. I wish Meyer would focus more on downfield passing plays.

Who said the staff likes him more than Barker or Crest? Not saying you're wrong, but I haven't seen any indication of that.

Rip, I know that's Ulmer's perception. They have definitely paid him some attention. I can't rule out that he will be offered, but it appears he doesn't have an offer yet. I guess time will tell.

Not as a qb. No way this kid gets a qb offer before some of the Osu targets at the position.

RE: Q&A - QB William Ulmer (Washington, DC)
IMO... He plays in the slot and some plays out of the backfield!
Why are people so upset that we might offer this kid? As long as he's a good kid, let's get him. Looks very athletic.
This seems like taking Jalin Marshall and JT Barrett in the same class... Both high school QBs.... One is going to be a QB in college though, the other is not.

Just read where the Buckeyes have one of their assistant coaches (can't remember who) in Washington DC this week. This can't be a bad thing.

RE: Q&A - QB William Ulmer (Washington, DC)
poor man's Terrelle Pryor with horrible mechanics. We could never fix Pryor's arm. I don't know if we could fix Ulmer's arm. I say take him as a RB/WR/CB. Kid has excellent speed. Not so sure about QB.
2014 recruiting wish list 1. Andrew Brown 2. Jamarco Jones 3. Raekwon McMillan
Ignore list: Naplesbuckeye2002

Not even in the same universe as Pryor. Pryor was a freak athlete with a strong arm

RE: Q&A - QB William Ulmer (Washington, DC)
Don't care how fast he is, because he has a release worse than Tim Tebow! He drops the ball almost to his waist before starting the forward motion. This equates to a very slow release. It is very difficult to change that bad habit.
