linebackers

linebackers

Other than a shot at Mike Mitchell, are we looking to the 2014 class? Or is there a surprise left out there between now and siging day?
Attention: We are now boarding Champions.

We are looking at a few others. I think Mitchell as a MLB is by far the most important because we have a lot of talented young outside guys like Perry Perkins Williams and Marcus that just need to learn the position.

Outside of him we are going after
Chris Worley (who may be more of a "star" akin to Tyler Moller)
Skai Moore (a sleeper that is somewhat blowing up)
Trey Johnson (committed to Auburn, says he will visit for Michigan)
Holland Fisher (committed to Va Tech, says he will visit)
Daniel McMillan (committed to Florida, says he will visit)

Boy Worley is awful thin. Will not be able to help next year.

More of a S/OLB combo. Suited for star and is great at blowing up screens and things like that.

Seems like developing the young lb's we have is going to take time. Next yr will be interesting to see who will be on the field. I guess for the time being, hopefully we can get one or 2 of the guys you mentioned, and perhaps 2014 will bring in some young talent that might develop quickly...

Just because they aren't ready as freshmen doesn't mean they are slow developers. Very few LBs can play as freshmen. They are all already contributing a lot on special teams and Perry and Williams have seen some playing time.

Dont expect any freshman linebacker we get in this class to contribute either. Probably only Rueben Foster and Jaylon Smith would be obviously capable as freshmen.

RE: linebackers

I meant talent to add depth.. I think we all know not to many freshmen can step on the field and play right away and have an impact. James laranitus, Aj Hawk, Andy Katz, , too few and far between. Would love to see Mitchell a Buckeye, he might be quicker to be an impact on the field.

RE: linebackers

Another quick question, the past couple yrs a few top Ohio prospects at lb, MLB, have gone to tsun, I know we offered some of them. Can't belive tsun can keep getting our best at this position. OSU has greater tradition at this position , can't figure this one out.How about the great #53 from champion Ohio.

Read it on scarletbuckeye.com and some people feel like Worley is set to commit soon.

Check out Worley's highlights, hes going to be a badass Star/Strong safety

Reminds me of Jermale Hines. I think OSU gets him and Mike Mitchell

Looks like a bad-ass to me. Sign this young man up. Put the fence back up and keep more Ohio talent....

I like Worley. He creates collisions.

RE: linebackers

Worley is a great prospect.....not sure he is a linebacker though like some have mentioned. Jermale Hines type. He was great in camps they say. Good athlete who is a football player. Physical safety/linebacker hybrid who will help against spread teams like Hines did.

Wouldn't count out Mitchell as a starting freshman.
