Terrelle = Peyton or Vince?...... you be the judge
Terrelle has mentioned quite frequently that Peyton Manning is one of his qb idols! Yet at this point in time in his career his style is more suited to Vince Young. Terrelle's athleticism (excapability under pressure) and speed reminds many of Vince. Where as at the conclusion of last season many in the media and fans were wondering wether he would mature as a pure passer. Well after a furiously motivated spring (pumping iron, working on mechanics, throwing motion, and building leadership skills) we had the type of performance by Terrelle in the spring game in front of a record 95,722 that are making many believers. His passing game obviously has been worked on and he has improved. My question is will the Buckeyes be better off with a Vince-like Terrelle or a Peyton-like Terrelle guiding our offense? WE all know that the Peyton-like Terrelle will have a better opportunity in the NFL. But he has two more full seasons of college. In IMHO a little of both would send our offense into the STRATOSPHERE! TP seems to be the type of athlete to pull it off. Of course a lot will depend on Tress and what style of offense he will run. Thoughts from the board. Go Bucks!!

But if he plays up to either one of their levels while they were in college, OSU will win the national title this year.

Just because manning is his one of his idols doesn't mean he wants his style to be the same. I'm sure he would like to just be as good a passer as he is.
Most quarterbacks idolized manning.

Vince won it all but Peyton didn't....in CFB.
Some people wear Tim Tebow pajamas. Tim Tebow wears Terrelle Pryor pajamas.

If Terrelle deveops his passing skills anywhere in the vicinity of Peytons, he's already the explosive athlete Vince Young is. What's that make Terrelle? A damned good Terrelle Pryor.

He's already a better passer than Vince. Vince played the game like it was backyard football. Terrelle is actually taking to coaching. And while it's highly unlikely he'll ever be as good of a pure thrower as Peyton, he might be just as good of a worker. I was really encouraged to hear how seriously Terrelle is taking film study and his footwork. He looked like he was seeing the field much better in the spring game than he did last year. Still amazes me this was his first spring and he is already threading the needle.

I'm not ready to put Pryor in that category until I see it on the field. I can't wait to see Pryor improve and dominate on the field, but let's not forget about how completely dominant Young was, also.

Vince passed for 3000 yards while runing for another thousand and was the best player in college for probably at least the last decade, yes even better then St. Tebow. So, Pryor is not yet on Vince Young's level, if he can keep improving he may get there.

Maybe I misread the post, but I thought he meant that at this stage of their careers, Pryor is a better passer then Vince was after 1 year of college football.

Maybe he will be Todd Boekman..Will you still love and droll all over him bgrupy? I bet you will...
Maybe he will just be Terrelle Pryor. A good college QB that has his own way.

well, besides USC.......
who has the db's to cover ohio state's wr's, the front seven to stop ohio state's running game, and the speed to chase pryor down if he leaves the pocket?
i know the dead horse is being beaten pretty good, but in the Big 10......with the surrounding cast pryor has to work with, pryor should look like manning, young, marino, elway, montana, starr, and unitas.

To be fair, the only defenses I think athletically matching up with OSU this year are USC,UF and LSU. Michigan will always have the horses, but they're in limbo now. JT has recruited REALLY well the past couple years. And yes, I think JT could take Saban behind the woodshed. We owe him one.
