What an Idiot!
Bad news for K-State concerning one of their recruits. Top Kansas State recruit arrested for armed robbery just 2 days before national signing day By Cameron Smith Posts Website Email RSS By Cameron Smith | Prep Rally – 4 hours ago When Kansas State earned a commitment from Lee’s Summit (Mo.) West High defensive end Jamone Boyd, Wildcats coach Bill Snyder knew he was landing one of the best defensive linemen in the Class of 2013. What he didn’t realize was that he was also getting a commitment from a player who would turn out to be a criminal. Lee's Summit West defensive end Jamone Boyd, who has been arrested for armed robbery — Rivals.com
As reported by Kansas City NBC affiliate KSHB, Boyd was arrested and charged with five counts of first degree robbery and armed criminal action, dating to a crime in January. Boyd allegedly turned himself in to authorities on Sunday after he was identified by the victims of the robbery. As an 18-year-old, Boyd could face full penalties for armed robbery in Missouri, which would carry a minimum sentence of 10 years per count, a total of 50 years imprisonment for the robbery. Naturally, the arrest was stunning just two days before Boyd was expected to sign a scholarship to play football at Kansas State. The 6-foot-4 defensive end was recruited by schools throughout the SEC, Big Ten and Big XII as well as Washington State. Those schools were apparently not dissuaded from recruiting the defensive end despite a disturbing November incident in which he was arrested for marijuana possession and reacted so aggressively that he had to be tased by police officers.

Re: What an Idiot!
K-State signed his high school teammate Nick Hernandez - #15 MLB prospect. He had a previous incident in November. Some people are just dumb! K-State still ended up with a pretty solid class, inspite of Boyd's stupidity, and having 2 players poached by Bret Bielema at Arkansas. Re: What an Idiot!
Did you guys read the linked story on the Robbery? They threatened the people in the apartment that they would retaliate if they called the police and said they would be back in a week or two, to rob them again! Nothing like trying to schedule your victims in order to make Your job as a felon a little easier.

Re: What an Idiot!
Wow, 10 years minimum for each count, total of 50 years. Well that's one way to throw away your life. It's sad, but can't say he doesn't deserve all of it. Jail is the place for armed robbers who threaten people.

He looks unhappy in his photo. For some reason some people choose not to count their blessings. Then they end up with bad attitudes

Some people say that he needed Bill Snyder. Unfortunately he probably needed someone long before Bill Snyder.
Too many young men not getting discipline and direction because there is no father or father figure around.

Re: What an Idiot!
I don't feel sorry for Snyder or anyone on staff at K State. to recruit a person with these issues tells me that Snyder and staff either we're not doing their homework, or worse, new exactly the situation and chose to ignore that information, putting the university in a perilous position. I'm obviously a Michigan fan, but I don't think either of our universities would touch this kid.

" Police did not arrest Roberson, and later determined that no crime had been committed and no charges should be filed,[4] but an investigation by the Kansas State athletic department concluded that Roberson and several other players had violated unspecified team rules. [5] As a result, Roberson was stripped of his scholarship by head coach Bill Snyder." Ettibber wrote: thugger wrote: feel sorry for Bill Snyder. Seems like a class guy. Re: What an Idiot!
I don't think the university is in a perilous position. Boyd is now probably going to jail and will now never attend or play at Kansas State. K-State signed his high school teammate Nick Hernandez. You have to wonder if Boyd was recruited to strengthen their commitment with Hernandez, or if Hernandez and his head coach vouched for Boyd, etc... K-State has other DE / DL recruits coming in. They got Hernandez who I really wanted, flipped from Missouri. If Boyd is this dumb then I am happy to find out now than after he signed his LOI. granvilleblue wrote: I don't feel sorry for Snyder or anyone on staff at K State. to recruit a person with these issues tells me that Snyder and staff either we're not doing their homework, or worse, new exactly the situation and chose to ignore that information, putting the university in a perilous position.
