Terry Porter

If that bum official Terry Porter was officiating last night my 49ers would have gotten that call.

of course there's always this -- if the bum who blithely ignored the double hold on Chris Gamble with 2 minutes left in regulation had been officiating it wouldn't have mattered.

Re: Terry Porter

spot on. we are seeing the anger at the officials for not making the right call in last nights game. This is about as obvious a lesson as the refs will ever get. Always call the rules in every game no matter the time.

Re: Terry Porter

It should have been called, just like it should have in that NC game.  You can't let obvious PI calls likes that go.

Re: Terry Porter

You guys gotta admit that the hold last night was a lot more egregious than the so called hold in the Natty in 2002...

2002 was both Holding and PI, so not sure.

Re: Terry Porter

Should have thrown the flag, the refs can always get together with the refs to talk it over, even pick up the flag

The CB clearly keeps his hands on him to avoid separation

Doesn't matter if it was the last play or the second play of the game, should have been called

And they missed 11 holds on the Safety play.

The only thing different was the number of cameras capturing the penalty. Even last night, the announcer originally claimed it was a great no call... Then they kept replaying it, and replaying it, and changing the camera angle, and replaying it... And the more it was seen, the more obvious it was that it WAS PI!!!

To me though, it doesn't matter. They let those teams play physical all night last night! You shouldn't change how your calling the game because of the time on the clock! Now, if they were calling a very tight game and then let this slide, I'd be outraged. They let them play for 58 minutes, why would they not let them play for the final 2?

One of those lasted about 4 seconds and right in front of the punter. I just assumed it was an intentional hold for some reason.......and stiil not sure it wasn't supposed to be intentional.

Herm' Edwards was on Mike & Mike this morning, and said that players are taught to hold on that play. What's the downside?

Why even respond to the OP...he's just another stupid troll. Personally, I think it is hilarious anytime one of "Da U's" fans brings that up...after all these years. I love it that they are STILL so butt-hurt over that game, which began their team's decline into oblivion.

God Bless Terry Porter......and Nevin Shapiro! tongue

At this point Miami Dolphins are more relevant in the NFL than Miami Hurricanes are in college football.

Re: Terry Porter

I don't think that ball was catchable last night, it was out of bounds.

In 2002, the ball was right in Gamble's hands for a TD, had he not been mugged by the Cane DB.
