Corey Smith & '13 WR depth chart...
In reading comments from numerous posts Smith is quite a talent and will contribute this upcoming season. With that said where do you see him fitting in the depth chart ?
Do does he pass Thomas & Spencer putting him #3 behind Thomas & Philly ? That's my hunch...
GO BUCKS !!!

I think he becomes a starter. Immediate impact
The guy at 24/7 say hes on the same level as R.Foster and Treadwell

As long as Braxton throws it to a smith or a Corey we should be in good shape

Hopefully he can allow Brown to slide to the shot

He is going to start, I don't think that is even a question.

With his academic record I would be worried about whether he can cut the academics in C'bus.

Do you mean he'll be one of the top 2WRs no doubt or be in the immediate 3-4 WR rotation?
I just have a hard time seeing him immediately displace either Corey Brown or Devin Smith. Neither are all americans, but Brown is experienced and has developed into a pretty good playmaker and I think Devin has a lot of potential.

RE: Corey Smith & '13 WR depth chart...
I think he is top 2 as of this moment. They're bringing him in to start, or else they wouldn't use a scholarship on a two year JUCO player (they're doing something similar with a JUCO offensive lineman commit to Nebraska). If you get a chance to check out his film, I think you'll see he is what Meyer is desperately seeking, which is gamebreakers. He has got that elusiveness after the catch that I think we've been lacking.
Now, whether this pans out this way, I suppose, is another matter. There is always the chance he comes in and for whatever reason is completely horrible, as I guess that can happen to anyone. But I bet he is one of the top 2 when the season starts, that is just how I see this use of a scholarship. I just don't think they would use it on a guy that doesn't contribute immediately.

Re: Corey Smith & '13 WR depth chart...
Top 3 IMO
He wont surpass Smith or Brown yet
But he will be ahead of Spencer and Thomas from day one

Brown and Smith are the starters. I think Thomas and Spencer and Smith all get looks as the #3 guy. But I still expect the coaches to get Jalin Marshall involved more than anyone else (but that's not just at WR, but also slot, tailback, etc.). As the season goes on expect to see more and more Marshall IMO...unless one of the other WRs like Smith/Thomas/Spencer/Fields step up their game.

I don't see this kid displacing Evan Spencer!
Spencer has good hands and is the best blocker among the wr's.
As the passing game improves Spencer will step up, big time!

RE: Corey Smith & '13 WR depth chart...
i dont see corey Smith doing much of anything next year. There is just too much talent ahead of him. Perhaps a year RS so he could learn the system and playbook and build some strength would do him some good.
2014 recruiting wish list 1. Kyle Allen 2. Jamarco Jones 3. Raekwon McMillan

Re: Corey Smith & '13 WR depth chart...
I do like this kid, his game reminds me of Santonio Holmes..i think he will be an eventual stud...but that said, he won't be jumping Philly or Devin Smith for sure...and then there is Michael Thomas and Evan Spencer who both could have somewhat breakout years...Also, Jalin Marshall will be in the mix...there can be only so many opportunities his freshman year; and that goes for every freshman unless they are lights out better than everyone else.
If we get Clark we will be set for years to come...Im really excited that we got Corey Smith...I hope he can focus on his studies.

But he will be ahead of Spencer and Thomas from day one thanks urban. last year Michael Thomas was the hot thing when he was a four star with speed out of military school. he's a sophmore now so let's forget about him for the newcomer smdh

RE: Corey Smith & '13 WR depth chart...
Corey Smith is better than Fields, Spencer, and Thomas therefore he will be 3rd on the depth chart behind Devin Smith and Corey Brown...that means he will be in the immediate rotation.
