Re: If the spread option was around in '93
Do you mean if tOSU ran the Spread option ?
Because FSU with Charlie Ward and Warrick Dunn ran an early version of it in 1993, and Charlie won the Heisman that year.

That was some serious talent, minus the quarterback.

Re: If the spread option was around in '93
Charlie Ward was such a great college QB. He accounted for a grand total of 59 TDs in his two years as a starter. And I would probably only take about 3-5 other college QBs over him in the modern era. SETIBuckeye wrote: Do you mean if tOSU ran the Spread option ?

Charlie wasn't only a great College QB, he might be a Top 5-10 College Athlete on All-Time. The kid won a Heisman, drafted in 1st Rd of 1994 NBA Draft, drafted in 1993 MLB Draft, and was rumored to have the skill set to play on the ATP Tour (tennis).. Crazy good Athlete. As a QB Coach, I molded my ideal QB after Charlie... probably my favorite College Player with Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson.

Re: If the spread option was around in '93
1 real problem here. wrong year in '93 Herby, Smith and Stablein were not there Hoying was QB with Bret Powers splitting time with him Harris, By'note and George are right Smith wasn't around Tillman and Galloway were the top receivers, Glenn, Sanders and Stanley were the backups. Cothran was the FB and Matt Calhoun played as well what you have listed is the '92 roster, but of course in '92 Galloway was a rarely used frosh. but otherwise :) MrMojoLane wrote: - QB-Kirk Herbstreit

Re: If the spread option was around in '93
Tommy Frazier would be a 1st round pick and maybe a back to back Heisman Winner. (Sorry...but considering we are working with a time-shift paradigm, I think Eddie the Great would've been surpassed...)

Re: If the spread option was around in '93
Tommy Frazier is my favorite non-OSU QB ever, but in no time period would he be a 1st round draft pick as a QB. His accuracy was more Tebow than Wilson. /Remembers Tebow was taken in the first round TheMinisterofPropaganda wrote:Tommy Frazier would be a 1st round pick and maybe a back to back Heisman Winner.
