That is a tough one. I loved Simon's motor but he always seemed one step slow of completely dominating. The William's injury hurt him as he had to go from the strong side to help more at Leo. That said, I am really excited to see what Spence can do with a full year of college conditioning under his belt. Washington and Bennett can nail down the strong side and rotate to help inside. Hankins did a lot more to free up Boren at linebacker then fans realize. He did not dominate games statistically but he took up lots of offensive linemen. I am not sure if the young D tackles can do the same. Obviously Bennett, Schutt, Carter, and others will be given a shot.

Hankins may have been better, but I truly believe that Simon's leadership anchored this 12-0 team. Someone like him is just not simply replaced that easily.

Losing them is gonna hurt but we are still talented on the Defensive Line. Noah Spence and Adolphus Washington are gonna be beasts and they're only Sophomores going into next season

Enter Hill and Bosa, etc., and by midseason I don't think we'll be able to tell that Simon and Hankins are gone (from an onfield productivity standpoint, anyway). This is one area where Meyer has done an excellent job of reloading, and where new names are going to emerge.

Were going to miss them both. However,I’m looking at this in a completely different way!!
I’m going with Hankins.
We had John Simon for his whole career and I loved the guy and it’s time for him to move on. Hankins on the other hand could have been with us another year, so he’s the biggest loss.
