Alex Boone!

Alex Boone!

I live in NorCal, and for those of you out east, you would be incredibly proud of how Alex Boone has become a quick fan favorite here.  Even the local sports radio hosts love the guy, he's always willing to do an interview, and they're well articulated and informative.  He's performing at a high level, and does charity off the field.  Good to see this guy overcome some knucklehead youngster mistakes, and the lack of development by the Walrus.

Two cool articles:

I know there's some animosity from Bengals fans towards the 49ers, but I hope they KILL the dirt-bag Ravens.  4 Buckeyes that will see the field for the 49ers!

Re: Alex Boone!

I''ve been following Alex's journey since he left tOSU and joined the 49ers.

I am so impressed with his performasnce and working his way up to the starting line up from free agency. Truly a great story that I hope the show on the Super Bowl pre-game marathon.

Last year he was played primarily tackle, this year he moves to guard and his performance is pro-bowl worthy!
Kudos to LaCharles Bentley for helping Alex get his talent together!
That is the value of great OL coaching, sort of like what we have now with Ed Warriner!

Re: Alex Boone!

The guy has become a true professional and is a big reason why this young line has developed into maybe the best in the league (especially with Snyder leaving this off-season). We absolutely love Boone in N. Cal. 6'8 guard is unreal. Worked his way up from practice squad. No doubt Harbaugh had a lot to do with this as well.

I live in San Fran, and Boone is great on TV and Radio.

Boone loves him some Harbaugh... it is amazing how much these guys love playing for JH, and how they all seem to have raised their game to another level since JH arrived at the Program.

JH is a scary good coach... would have loved to see him and Urban go at it in the B1G.

Happy for Alex Boone

Had some definite ups and down during his days as a Buckeye but happy to see him playing so well with the 49ers and hope he can come away with a Super Bowl victory here next weekend.

Re: Alex Boone!

As long as he stays sober he will be fine, but he is somebody who seems to exemplify "one drink is too many, a thousand drinks aren't enough."  I hope the best for him, as that is one hard demon to keep at bay.

Poor choice on avatar and then talking about AB.

I do give him high praise for winning & beating his off field problems, he was in pretty bad shape with a serious drinking problem.

RE: Alex Boone!

I'm glad for him. I don't know if this qualifies as a 'second chance' for him exactly, but it's good that he seems to be in a better place. I hope it stays that way.

He was no slouch at OSU, but I wonder how much better he could have been if the lights had come on for him earlier....?

Even Alex Boone can't afford to drink Krug to get drunk.  Too expensive.

Too bad Bollman couldn't straighten his ass out and get him to perform at this high level.

Re: Alex Boone!

Some people have to learn the hard way.

I am sure Bollman talked to him about doing things the right way, etc...

However, upon leaving Ohio State he had a drunken rage out in California before the draft. This caused his draft stock to plummet even further. BUT, that may have finally been the wake up call he needed.

Re: Alex Boone!

He grew up and gained so much maturity to go along with his physical attributes as a player. I'm happy for him as he has finally reached a point of comfort with himself. Like many, I thought he would have a great college career, and while he did okay, I felt like by the time he was done at OSU that he could've been so much more as a player. Unfortunately, before he ever set foot on campus, he was called the next Orlando Pace by many.
