Jan 25, 2013 9:30 AM 279 0 Share Facebook Twitter StumbleUpon Tumblr Instapaper Email this post Report: Female Tuiasosopo Cousin Involved In Te’o HoaxBarry Petchesky View Profile Email Twitter RSS Two recent developments have been hard to reconcile with each other. First, Ronaiah Tuiasosopo's claim to the Daily News that, in leading on Manti Te'o, it was him on the phone the entire team, impersonating a female voice . Second, the release of three voicemails from "Lennay Kekua" to Te'o— they really do sound like they're from a woman. Today the New York Post digs up a Tuiasosopo family member who says no, that's not Ronaiah impersonating a woman. It's his cousin, an actual female, Tino Tuiasosopo. (A helpful reader sent us the above photo of Tino and Ronaiah.) After hearing the voicemails, one of Tino's cousins told The Post, "There is no doubt whatsoever that it's Tino." Tino Tuiasosopo doesn't appear to have been in on the years-long hoax from the beginning, as the Post points out she only got involved in late 2011 after being dumped in another long-distance relationship. Also, Tino lives in American Samoa, while Te'o's phone number for Lennay Kekua was reportedly an area code for Southern California, where Ronaiah lives. The Post reached out to Tino's father, who used a curious choice of words: Her dad, Bob, declined to talk about the situation, saying, "I don't want to divulge anything."

already know who inouye is bro, Incompetent implies unintentional, this softball media stuff seems intentional to me in that it gets viewers, creates a feel good story releasing endorphins, celebrates diversity. news==entertainment, very little of what's reported has any bearing on your life. http://espn.go.com/college-foo...anti-teo-report Someone needs to check that fact. I doubt there is even a cousin that exists named Tino. This whole story is filled with more lies and unanswered questions than the Watergate scandal and JFK assassination combined!!!

RE: manti teo
Just watched it. One thing is for certain. If he wasn't in on it, then he is truly the dumbest kid I have ever seen. Not naive. Not gullible. Flat out incredibly dumb. His answers were so dumb it was painful to watch. If you're a Notre Dame fan, and you think he is innocent, then never again speak of Notre Dame football and academics in the same sentence. You have lost all credibility at this point. We have all heard athletes who can barely string a sentence together, but this kid makes them all look like Rhodes Scholars. He's so dumb, it's breathtaking. If I'm a Notre Dame fan, I pray each day at the grotto that he's guilty of the whole thing. I'd rather him an ambitious charlatan rather than a guy holding a degree from my university.
At one point, in the softest of soft interviews, you could see Katie Couric almost slipped. She started to say, "you can't possibly be this..." and you know stupid almost came out of her mouth. Instead she covered it with something like "technologically incompetent." But dumb is the blank the whole world filled in when she asked the question.

http://articles.latimes.com/2012/dec/23/nation/la- na-pn-inouye-funeral-hawaii-20121223 Of course it's intentional: the media got caught with its pants down in this whole thing, so the more they can make it look real, they can claim to have been hoaxed just like Te'o, and then they come off as victims -- not the incompetent fools they are. And there are many forms of incompetence. There's the incompetence that took place when reporters failed to check the facts in this story, even when dates of the girlfriend's supposed death were different -- and there's all but criminal incompetence like we're now seeing, where they're selling us a bill of goods. Katie and Te'o are represented by the same folks; there's a financial bond here and money to be made. So the better he looks, the more money everyone ends up making. They're deliberately lying to the American people and figuring we're too stupid to see right through it. I don't think they're trying to create anything other than a fake image for profit here. It has zero to do with diversity or Hawaiian heritage. They're using that to make white people feel guilty for even questioning the motives behind any of this. They don't want you calling the young man a LIAR even though that's what he is, and they're using race as one of the ways to do it.

From the recent interviews, do we know when the 'relationship' actually started?

Dr. Phil has Tuisosopo's voice analyzed by experts and they say it's a one in 10 million chance he is the person who left the voicemails on Manti's phone....Hmm....I smell a cover up.

So, a TV psychologist knows that you need to fact-check claims, but an army of sports "journalists" don't?

What do you think they're covering up? And if you're proven correct, what do you think should be the punishment?
