Re: Bengals vs Texans

1) Would ANYONE be upset if Marve got fired and the bengals promoted Zimmer?  i dont think so...

2) Wanna see some scary comparisons???

Tom Brady (2 seasons as starter)
6600 yards, 46 TD, 26 INT

Dalton
7000 47 29

Rogers didnt start till his 4th season.  Brees didnt get his footing until his 4th.

Not saying Dalton is as good, just saying he is producing just as good in yr 2 as the top QB's of today did.

Carson Palmer was 0-2 in the playoffs. Andy Dalton is now 0-2 in the playoffs.

Matt Ryan has a chance to go 0-4 next week if he losses to SEA/WAS winner today.

The all time mysteries in playoff records is Dan Marino who was 8-10, Peyton Manning who is 9-10, and Trent Dilfer who was 5-1.

Re: Bengals vs Texans

No but I wasnt happy with an offensive coordinator who refused to run and who refused to even throw one first-half pass to the Bengals' only real offensive star: AJ Green. He got 80 yards in just the second half alone. Jay Gruden was outsmarting himself.

I think the Bengals need to upgrade from Lewis, the game yesterday was winnable and Kubiak is no master of game management either. It was clear cinci could run the ball on the texans and law-firm had a number of good runs but didn't get the ball enough to make a difference

the bengals will probably lose mike zimmer as well, so I expect a step back since D was the soul of that team.

I wouldn't be mad if Zimmer were named HC. But Marvin Lewis was a great DC as well. No guarantee that Zimmer would be an upgrade as the head man.

I also wouldn't be mad if Lewis stays either.

This is all on Dalton.  He had a very poor game, as he is wont to have.  He is not sharp at times, too many times.  he seemed nervous.  He hesitated a lot, seemed reluctant throw when he should have, and could have run for yards and stayed int he pocket and took hits.  He is going to have to get mentally tougher.  he seems to get angry and flustered too easily.

What HONEST changes do you think Zimmer would make, on the offensive side of the ball? I don't think Marvin or Zimmer are the problem. I think Gruden got a lot of hype too early, plus talent issues w/ WR depth, RB,C.

The Bengals' guards are young. They will get better. Zeitler and Boling are first-year starters will be good players. Whitworth and Andre Smith are pretty good tackles. Kyle Cook is not a particularly good center. It doesnt help that the Bengals' passing game is limited due to inexperienced receivers and Jermaine Greshem, a physical speciman who should dominate more than he does, is an inconsistent tight end.

The Bengals need a change of pace RB to compliment the Law Firm and a couple veteran receivers in the mold of James Jones for Green Bay: a veteran who wouldn't be overpriced yet knows how to get open and has good hands.

agreed.  the NFL is so boring anymore because it all boils down to QB play.  the QB with the hot hand seems to get it done every year, and the league rules so heavily favor the passing game that it is impossible to succeed without a versatile QB.  Yesterday Dalton lost the game.  He had opportunities and couldn't get it done, plain and simple.

The frustrating thing is that, really, what is the ceiling with a guy like Dalton?  I mean, does anyone see him as a future Brady/Brees/Manning?  Personally, I don't.  Best case scenario he is what, Matt Hasselback?
