Shane Morris? Really?
Pretty much as I suspected. This kid played football in Michigan. Most of us from the northern part of Ohio who played against some of the Michigan teams in high school, know how truly horrid football is up there. Pretty easy to put up big numbers against inferior talent.
How would Morris have fared against Canton McKinley, Moeller, St. Edwards, Massillon, St. Ignatius, etc., etc., etc.? I think we saw today. Not a pretty site when having to play against talent he hasn't seen yet in his career.
Wait until he gets to college, especially in games like Ohio State when he will be dodging faster, athletic players all day. I think he may be the QB version of Kevin Grady, another "star" from that state up north who ran for 8,000 yards in high school but could never make it at the next level at Meatchicken.

Re: Shane Morris? Really?
This kid has done literally nothing to earn 5 stars. Even if he does end up being a good player nothing he has done to this point shows that he is a 5 star player.

Re: Shane Morris? Really?
Its easy for a Mac level recruit to stand out on an awful high school team...Shane sucked big time in the skills comp last night...couldnt even hit the 10 foot board he was throwing at...also threw a big duck on his long toss ball.

Re: Shane Morris? Really?
Morris did play against Iggy this past season and did very well. He went 9 of 22 for 102 yards with no touchdowns and threw a pick. His team hung in there tough but fell 43-13 to the boys for St. Ignatius. LOL. He seriously looked like he was going to cry. --------------------------------------------- --- wynnosu wrote:

I guess he has done enough to be a big mouth, the poster boy for the scUM recruits. He sucks and all the recruits who sucked up to him are pathetic.

RE: Shane Morris? Really?
Consistency is an issue but he has a big arm. He will take work, not going to rag on a kid

RE: Shane Morris? Really?
Shane Morris is underrated as a 5 star QB. I think he can and will lead Michigan to the 7 on 7 National Championship!
2014 recruiting wish list 1. Kyle Allen 2. Jamarco Jones 3. Raekwon McMillan
Ignore list: Naplesbuckeye2002

The thing is though, he never put up big numbers. Check his stats from his Junior and Senior year and you'll see that they're very average. He's earned his rating by looking good at some camps and having a big arm.

Re: Shane Morris? Really?
This kid makes a mockery of the 5 star ranking. Scout gets held accountable on 5 star misses, and this kid is no 5 star. I would move him way down before its to late.

RE: Shane Morris? Really?
Morris never put up big numbers against Michigan HS weak talent. Threw for 1400 yards as a junior, and peed down his leg that year in a state play off game. St. Iggy made him and his HS look like a junior high school team, 47 to 0 at one point. Morris is nothing more than a flag football camp player, who used social media to pump up his status as well. In pads, cinderella. Said over and over again, Morris is Anthony Morrelli part 2.

I didn't follow his recruitment, but according to his profile on Scout, his other offers were from: Bowling Green, Central MI, Cincy, MSU, Syracuse, and Toledo. Didn't see any of the "big boys" in there.
I did check his HS schedule and during his senior year his team lost four games by scores of 49-13 (St. Ignatius), 28-0 (Brother Rice, MI), 31-30 (Catholic Central, MI), and 35-0 (St. Mary Prep, MI).
So his HS team went 5-4 in Michigan and the only Ohio school they played annihilated them. As a previous poster noted, he went 9of 20 for 104 yards, 2 picks, no TDs and also "rushed" for -27 yards.
This warrants five stars? WTF??? Compare his stats and competition to, oh say, Braxton Miller. Can't wait until he's calling signals up there... if he ever gets the opportunity at all.
PS: I did see he apparently punted for his team as well. Against Ignatius, he had five punts for a 34.2 average. WOW!!! Sounds like he can do it all!

Things must be really slow around the house when you don't go to a bowl game if you really spend this much time worrying about the ranking of a high school football player.
