Looks good, except I have Frank Leahy instead of Knute Rockne.
Why?
Frank Leahy won 4 national Championships at Notre Dame in 11 years as Head Coach.

Between 1946 and 1949, the Fighting Irish never trailed in a game, and didn't lose a game either.

But in all seriousness, there are so many coaches it is hard to pick just 4.

Personally, I can say I can't put Bryant up because he went 0-4 vs ND losing 2 times to each Ara and Devine. Can't put up Bo because he never won a title. Can't put up Yost because he was an ass hole.

Bo doesn't belong.

Bear definitely does. Four games don't mean much. If Alabama plays ND in four different years, they could have been 4-0. Bear won six NCs in 19 years.

By that logic, Bo should be on the list, since Bo was 5-4-1 against Woody in the Ten Year War, by virtue of the 1969 upset & a few other things.

RE: Your Mount Rushmore of College Coaches?

Parseghian has to be in the discussion.

He had a winning record at Northwestern.

When he was there he was 3-3 against Woody, and 4-0 against Notre Dame!

His first year at ND he was a minute away from a NC in the LA Coliseum against USC after taking over a Notre Dame team that was 2-7 the year before and hadn't been as good as 6-4 in five years.

Hayes,Rockne,Osborne,Bowden. I would leave Bryant off b/c he was complicit in racist practices for the first 20 plus years of his career.

There's a certain kind of reassuring white rock....and some people do well with that.....

Bear was maybe the most important figure in SEC desegregating.

Brought USC with their Black athletes to Birmingham  and take a loss in '70 (42-17) to show Alabamans and rest of Dixie.

Yeah, I don't know all the history of how the SEC desegregated, but I do know what Bear did. It worked too.

It's interesting how much regions play into opinion.

Unless I missed it, not one person mentioned Bud Wilkinson or Darrell Royal.

I am not sure either one is on the mountain, but I think they certainly belong in the conversation.

Wilkinson was mentioned twice on the first page of the thread.
