Re: Northwestern vs Mississippi State
Colter is a mobile QB, why not give him a rolling pocket and force openings on the MSU seams?

Well, it's beginning to look like another typical Northwestern Bowl game: Get off to a fast start, then fade and lose. Same old same old.

You come out attacking, you score, you get a nice lead, then you shut down and play conservative and let the other team take over. JT did this too often, too, but he had talent to make it work more than it should. NW should be attacking and they went into hibernation after they got up 13-0. I just hate coaches like this.

I just hate coaches like this. Being too cautious is a problem with almost all Big Ten coaches. They go into bowl games and either play conservative the entire game or are innovative the first quarter or half and then clench up. Someone on this board had the funniest quote I have ever seen about Coach Tressel. He is the only coach who panics up by 21 pts.

MAC schools, WAC schools, heck, even SEC schools do it. But definitely hurts the top Big10 teams most because they are already ridiculed.

Re: Northwestern vs Mississippi State
Wow. Lanes for the NW QBs to run all day, and they have not tried to run since 1st Qtr.
Why do coaches not see this or not stick with it when they started with it?

Re: Northwestern vs Mississippi State
Wow, I didn't realize that NW has not won a bowl game since the 1949 Rose Bowl.
Good for them, I hope they win today - against an SEC school to boot.

NW should pull it off if they don't call off the dogs on offense

Re: Northwestern vs Mississippi State
Here's the thing with NW... they know how to lose late and close. For instance, the Michigan game this year.
You can just never get your hopes up too high with the Mildcats.
